🧹 Spring cleaning… in the fall? Why not! 🍂
We’ve been doing a little fall cleaning here at Barry County Lumber, and apparently, we’ve uncovered a few pieces of BCL history along the way! 😲
Look what we found! 👀
💵 Envelopes with money still waiting for customers—from 1967 and 1975!
🏦 A bank book dating all the way back to 1945, the year Barry County Lumber first opened its doors!
🧾 An original 1967 receipt for four pieces of 10x12 glass… totaling just $3.43!
And here’s another fun piece of history—the receipts show our phone number as W1.5-3431. ☎️ Today, you can reach us at 945-3431! Some things change, but apparently that last four digits have been with us for a long time. 😉
That’s more than 80 years of history sitting right here in our store. From handwritten invoices and old bank records to customers who apparently had a little unfinished business with us, these treasures are a pretty cool reminder of just how long Barry County Lumber has been part of the community.
And while $3.43 doesn’t buy quite as much glass these days, it sure makes for a fun look back at the way things used to be! 😄
We may have started with lumber, but over the years we’ve collected a whole lot of history, memories, and stories along the way. ❤️
Now the big question… what else is hiding in those cabinets? 🤔
