The future of auto glass is quickly evolving.
A recent article highlights how Tesla is drawing strict lines on where the Cybertruck windshield can and cannot be repaired. In many cases, even minor damage outside designated zones may require a full replacement instead of a repair.
This is a big shift for industry and a reminder that not all glass is created equal anymore. As vehicle technology advances, so do the standards for safety, calibration, and repair procedures.
For shops and customers alike, it reinforces one thing: experience and proper calibration matter more than ever.

Recalls – Auto Glass & Calibration Industry

Safety is our priority. Recalls happen. We assist dealerships in getting active auto glass and calibration recalls, inspected and repaired, as needed. We want to help keep consumers informed and safe. Check your vehicle for recalls: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

There are several vehicle models with active auto glass and calibration recalls. Please call us or your local dealership if you have any questions or concerns. Please verify these recalls using the NHTSA lookup tool before taking any action.
-Ford Explorers (2026): Recall due to improper windshield adhesion.
-Ford Bronco (2021-2022): Recall involves an 8-inch screen, which may affect ADAS camera calibration, often linked to previously improperly repaired windshields.
-Hyundai Santa Fe (2020-2021): Recalls for nonconforming clear coat paint on these models can cause inadequate windshield bonding.
-Hyundai Elantra (2021): Recalls for nonconforming clear coat paint on these models can cause inadequate windshield bonding.
-Chrysler 300 (2020-2021): Recall due to potential windshield separation due to poor bonding.
-Dodge Challenger & Charger (2020-2021): Recall due to potential windshield separation due to poor bonding.
-Kia Cadenza (2014-2016): Recall for potential water leak and poor windshield adhesion.
-Ram ProMaster (2023-2024): Recall due to installed windows do not comply with FMVSS regulations for emergency exits.
-ABC Bus VanHool: Recall on various models due to incorrect glaze on the lower curb view window, violating FMVSS visibility standards.

Use our VIN lookup tool to check for recalls on your car, or search by make and model. Our databases also list car seats, tires, and equipment recalled for unreasonable safety risk or failing to meet minimum safety standards.

This week, two of our newer team members attended the 2026 Northeast Glass Expo in Long Island, where they participated in training hosted by the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC).

The Northeast Glass Expo, sponsored by the Long Island Glass Association (LIGA), USGlass Magazine®, AGRR™ Magazine, and Door and Window Market [DWM] magazine, brings together professionals from across the auto glass and flat glass industries for education, networking, and hands-on training.

During the event, the AGSC hosted three training seminars with the opportunity to take certification exams afterward. On Wednesday, attendees participated in windshield replacement training followed by ADAS calibration training. Thursday morning featured an NWRD windshield repair course.

These courses provided a strong foundation in auto glass safety procedures, installation best practices, and calibration protocols. For newer employees, it’s an invaluable opportunity to better understand the responsibilities of technicians and the standards that keep drivers safe on the road. For experienced professionals, events like Glass Expo offer a chance to refresh skills and stay current in an industry that continues to evolve with new vehicle technology.

A huge thank you to Jeff Olive and Mindy Hood from the AGSC for leading these seminars with such passion, expertise, and dedication to advancing auto glass safety and technician education.

We appreciate organizations like the AGSC and Northeast Glass Expo that continue to support training and growth across the auto glass industry. We are honored to be members of the AGSC.
