The homeowner redoing their porch this weekend. The contractor we see every single day, sometimes twice. A grandfather who bought his first sheet of plywood here decades ago, and now his grandson’s the one building his own place. Generations of you, coming back, project after project, year after year.

So this week, we’re not spotlighting one person — we’re thanking everyone. Every sale, every “can you order that for me,” every job we got to be a small part of. That’s 128 years right there.

It takes a village, and we’ve always believed in giving back to ours — supporting local charities, local businesses, the people who make this community what it is. That loyalty runs both ways.

This Week’s Customer of the Week — Rannco Inc.

Ten years ago, Jim Rann started Rannco with a handful of employees and a vision: bring real craftsmanship to every job. Since then, he’s built it into a crew that handles new construction, remodeling, restoration, and now a full roofing division too.

Rannco’s work covers a lot of ground — from custom new homes to office and commercial buildouts to backyard additions. That range takes good people and a lot of experience to pull off well.

It’s been pretty amazing watching this company grow over the last 10 years, and we appreciate Jim’s loyalty to Barnes Lumber Co. through all of it. That kind of trust isn’t something we take for granted.

This week we’re proud to feature Jeremy Randolph of Randolph Construction.

Jeremy got his start in construction in 2003, working alongside other contractors and gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of the trade. In 2015, he took that experience and started Randolph Construction.

From complete home remodels and renovations to custom showers and detailed finish work, Jeremy can handle a project from start to finish.

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT — Noah Miller MIDDLE MILLER SERVICES

Some guys learn the trade. Noah was raised in it. Fourth-generation carpenter, 24 years old, taught by his grandfather and carrying skills that got passed down through the family. That’s not something you pick up overnight.

You can see it in his work. He takes his time and does it right. At 24 he’s already showing the kind of discipline it takes years to build, and he’s just getting going.

We’re glad he trusts Barnes Lumber with his projects. Here’s some of what he’s been building.

STARTING SOMETHING NEW — CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT, EVERY WEEK

We’ve got customers who have been coming here for 20, 30, 40 years. Figured it was time we said something about them. Every week we’ll put one of them up here.

First up: Juli Turner

Twenty years is a long time to stick with anything. That’s how long Juli has been coming to Barnes Lumber for her True Value EasyCare paint — kitchen makeovers, bedrooms, trim work, whatever she’s got going.

The paint has never let her down. Good coverage, holds its color, cleans up easy. When something works that well, there’s no reason to look elsewhere. Same goes for people. Jane Hankins Mitchellhas been taking care of Juli the whole time, and with 30 years behind this counter, there isn’t much about paint she hasn’t seen. That kind of experience makes the job easier for both of them.

Loyalty goes both ways, though. Juli has given us 20 years of her business, and we don’t take a minute of it for granted. Every project that comes through our door gets treated like it’s our own — that’s been the deal here since 1898.

Not every project is just a build to us.

This home and shop belong to a second-generation craftsman who trusted Barnes Lumber to supply the materials for his own place. Years ago we supplied his father. Now we’re proud to supply him.

To us that’s not just a sale. It’s personal. We take real pride in the loyalty so many families have shown us over the years.

It’s been something special to watch this one take shape. Thanks to Southern Truss Company for supplying the trusses on both the home and the pole barn — good partners make good projects.
