20 seems to be the common number with this gray market ‘80 911SC which started with a steel widebody conversion. The father of forum member char picked it up in the 90’s when he was 20 years old. His dad decided to do a full 964 turbo conversion on the car because its paint was suffering from Florida’s harsh weather. The car was sold and at some point, damaged, which led to botched repair work and the car resting inside a barn.... 14 years later it ended up back in the hands of char’s father. Then, in 2024, char turned 20 and his dad handed the SC to him. Char could now create the vision of his own perfect 911. The car has been painted in Aga Blue and we can’t wait to see more updates to char’s own 911 project! This 911SC also has a special connection to Rennline. What is it? You’ll just have to read through the thread and find out for yourself!

This is the tale of 2 best friends who both end up with 911T’s. Quaz was the first to own a Porsche, driving a 928 S2 that he modified slowly. He ended up peer pressuring his best friend jkap to get a Porsche, hoping it would be a 928/951/968, which would complement his 928. However, jkap had a different thought process- he wanted a pre-‘74 air cooled 911’s, which quaz felt was foolish and insane...but he helped him hunt for one.

After searching, a supposedly Tangerine ‘70 911T in New York appears, with terrible paint, nice interior, a solid floor, and polished 6” & 7” polished Fuchs wheels for $6.5K. For that price, how bad can it be? They go on a road trip with their wives to pick up the car for Joao. It was all downhill from there... or was it?

Fast forward a bit, and now quaz gets full blown 911 syndrome and decides he needs one for himself. He ends up finding a ‘70 911T for $3K which needed a laundry list of items done which included a transmission rebuild, all new suspension, carpets, seals, and more.

Want to read more about the exciting adventures and surprises these best friends encounter during their 911 ownership? You’ll have to head on over to our forums!

This Light Yellow ’73 911T was a barn find that had been parked in ‘79 until it was rescued by forum member JKarow08. Being. Rally guy at heart, he centered this build around it. He’s going after a subdued, classy, rally oriented build featuring parts Porsche offered from the factory back in the day. Light Yellow with Viper Green accents looks pretty awesome. He’s currently tackling the last bit of his engine build and should be installing it soon. We can’t wait to see this build finished!
