Bertram Elsner, our longtime Chairman of the Board, passed away Sunday, June 1. Our deepest condolences to the Elsner family.
Bertram’s journey with ELSNER began in 1958 as a machine design engineer. Over the decades, he saw the company grow which included two major facility expansions that marked turning points in our capabilities and global reach. His leadership was instrumental in ELSNER receiving the President’s “E” Award for outstanding contributions to international exports in 1983, an achievement that reflected his relentless drive to broaden our horizons.
Although he officially retired in 2001, Bertram’s dedication never wavered. For 67 years, his presence was constant, offering insight, challenging us to do better, and championing the values that define who we are.
Just weeks ago, he attended his final board meeting. There, the Board presented him with a plaque. It was a small gesture of thanks for a lifetime of leadership. No tribute can fully express the impact he had on this company, or the deep respect and admiration we hold for him.
Bertram’s legacy lives on in every innovation, every challenge, and every success we’ve shared. He shaped not only ELSNER’s past but its future.
We are grateful beyond words. He will be deeply missed.
