Memorial Day is a solemn occasion dedicated to honoring the brave men and women of the military who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This day is not about veterans, police officers, or firefighters. It is solely about those military personnel who signed the dotted line, went overseas to serve their country, and never returned.
Today, we remember and pray for these heroes, reflecting on the immeasurable loss experienced by their grieving families. Think of the mothers and fathers who will never speak to their sons or daughters again. Consider the young lives cut short, and the tremendous sacrifices they made on behalf of our freedoms.
Their service and sacrifice humble me deeply. As someone who has served two combat tours in Iraq, I carry the memory of close friends lost in battle. I often think of them and their families, who continue to endure the pain of their absence.
On this Memorial Day, I urge you to reflect on the sacrifices made by these courageous individuals. Take a moment to honor their memory, to consider the enduring grief of their families, and to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy because of their bravery.
We can never thank them enough, and we will always be indebted to their service. Their legacy of courage and selflessness is a profound reminder of the cost of our freedom. Let us remember them today and always.
God Bless
