A 3/4" A325 bolt costs about $2-3, wholesale. Installing the bolt costs another $20-$50 in the field, once you count crew time at height, lifts, and moving between connections. Inspection adds another $1-2, and that’s before anyone drops one from the deck.

The cheapest, safest bolt is the one you eliminate in design, never carried up a column. That’s why connection decisions belong at the start of a project, not the middle.
