K2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. Expands to Charleston, SC Through Acquisition of Connor Engineering, Inc.
Haddonfield, NJ | Charleston, SC – K2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. is proud to announce the acquisition of Connor Engineering, Inc. a respected civil engineering firm serving the Lowcountry for over 34 years. Moving forward, K2 Consulting Engineers will be doing business as Connor Consulting Engineers in the Charleston market, combining the strength of K2’s regional expertise with the trusted legacy of Connor Engineering’s local relationships.

As part of this transition, Will Connor, P.E. will assume the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering, leading operations, client relations, and project delivery across the Charleston region. Will’s deep understanding of coastal engineering, land development, and infrastructure design in the Lowcountry aligns seamlessly with K2’s mission of delivering innovative, technically sound, and community-focused engineering and planning solutions.

Junior Survey Party Chief

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Survey Party Chief to join our surveying division. This role is ideal for a motivated survey technician ready to step into a leadership track. You will work closely with senior staff, perform surveys for engineering and construction projects, and ensure accurate data collection in support of our clients.

Responsibilities

* Assist in organizing and leading survey field crews on construction, boundary, and topographic surveys.
* Operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors with accuracy.
* Maintain clear field notes, sketches, and digital survey records.
* Establish control points, run levels, and verify site conditions.
* Train and guide junior crew members on equipment and procedures.
* Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for field use.
* Work closely with office staff to transfer field data and resolve discrepancies.
* Follow and enforce company safety standards on all projects.

Qualifications

* 2–4 years of progressive field surveying experience.
* Associate’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience (preferred).
* Proficiency with robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and survey data collection software.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and legal descriptions.
* Strong math, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

* Comfortable working outdoors in varying site and weather conditions.
* Ambition to grow into a full Party Chief or Survey Project Manager role.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
* Ability to walk/stand for extended periods on uneven terrain.
