Giving Back: Team A&D Supports Austin's Eagle Scout Project
On Saturday, August 22, members of Team A&D rolled up their sleeves alongside Austin LaFata, Troop 472, their families, and fellow volunteers at the North Guilford Fire Department — all in support of Austin's Eagle Scout project.
Together, the team helped transform an unused area at the firehouse into a brand-new outdoor seating and picnic space. The day's work included building four picnic tables, moving dirt with excavators, extending the sidewalk, pouring a concrete pad, and creating an asphalt millings access area for plow trucks to reach the fuel tank. The finished space features loose-stone seating surrounded by a new retaining wall — a welcoming spot for firefighters and the community for years to come.
This was a true team effort. The North Guilford Fire Department matched the funds Austin raised through his car wash fundraisers to cover the picnic tables, and any leftover funds will go toward future Eagle Scout projects for Troop 472.
Huge congratulations to Austin on his leadership and dedication, and a big thank-you to everyone at Team A&D who donated their time and equipment. Projects like this are exactly what our Community Outreach Plan is all about — giving back, strengthening our community, and coming together outside the job site.
Way to go, Austin!
