No one expected Teays Valley senior Austin Schemrich to walk at graduation.

After a life-changing accident left him unable to walk, just getting to this moment was a victory. But with the help of an exoskeleton, Austin did more than show up—he stood up and walked across that stage, surprising everyone.

We’re proud to have played a small part in his journey by machining components that made his steps possible.

And here’s the best part: one of those parts was made by his own classmate. Ava Ackerman—a skilled CNC operator from our shop—helped machine the very technology that helped her friend take those steps.
