Groton Street Hockey Program There are no formal teams, stats, standings or referees. We try to create a family atmosphere where players police themselves. through the fall.

A non-contact program of pickup games for fun and exercise where grown adults run around chasing a little orange ball! Pickup games are typically played 4-on-4 plus goalie and can be quite competitive at times, but overall we try to take good care of each other - "Live to play another day!"

Sessions are Tuesdays and

Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Required equipment: approved hockey stick, shoes/sneakers that you can run in safely, shorts or athletic pants, both a white and dark colored tee-shirt or jersey. Recommended equipment: Eye protection, gloves (players use hockey, broomball, lacrosse or work gloves), knee/shin pads, athletic cup, mouthguard

General information

Groton Street Hockey is a program of Groton Parks & Recreation. We play width-wise using approximately 1/3 of the rink. Equipment set up begins around 5 p.m., and although we officially start at 5:30, we will begin play as soon as we have enough players. Players are asked to help with setup and cleanup. Session cancellation information can be found here or by calling the hockey hotline at (860) 536-4212. Final decisions regarding playing condition of the rink are usually made by visual inspection by the program coordinator around 4:45-5:00 p.m. Want to play? Registration is on-going. Register through Groton Parks & Recreation at grotonrec.com. Bring proof-of-registration receipt with you to your first session.
