I'm sitting here having a bourbon as i write this.
So, the past month or so has been sort of emotional here after a dear friend, a great guy, good customer, awesome dad and loving boyfriend, came to the shop with his significant other, Charlene, to explain that he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and that he didn't have long.
In the time since, I had the privilege to have more conversations than usual with him and came to realize that he was better than the description above. He had more stories. They were good ones. Fun ones. Stories I could relate to.
This past week, he slipped away from us in the night and "went west" as pilots say when one passes away.
I hope Charlene and his daughters and son can find comfort now that the drama stage of his ailment are over. I will always remember sitting with him and relating, listening, adding to his stories.
Godspeed, Tom Scotidas! Go harass the pilots that were in both your and our lives for me. Tell them we love them, miss them, and really hope to see them again!
Most of all, be good, wild man! We're here on earth waiting our turn. We'll be ok until then, and we'll have a bourbon together again.
See you later, from Bill, Frank, Carol, Susan, Josh, Keven, and Ben.
