Ephesians 3 God’s Mysterious Plan Revealed
Ephesians 3:1 When I think of all this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the benefit of you Gentiles . . .
Ephesians 3:2 assuming, by the way, that you know God gave me the special responsibility of extending his grace to you Gentiles.
Ephesians 3:3 As I briefly wrote earlier, God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me.
Ephesians 3:4 As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.
Ephesians 3:5 God did not reveal it to previous generations, but now by his Spirit he has revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.
Ephesians 3:6 And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 3:7 By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.
Ephesians 3:8 Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.
Ephesians 3:9 I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.
Ephesians 3:10 God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 3:11 This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 3:12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.
Ephesians 3:13 So please don’t lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored.
Ephesians 3 Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth
Ephesians 3:14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,
Ephesians 3:15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.
Ephesians 3:16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Ephesians 3:17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
Ephesians 3:18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
Ephesians 3:19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Ephesians 3:20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
Ephesians 3:21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 2 Made Alive with Christ
Ephesians 2:1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.
Ephesians 2:2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
Ephesians 2:3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
Ephesians 2:4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,
Ephesians 2:5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
Ephesians 2:6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2 Oneness and Peace in Christ
Ephesians 2:11 Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.
Ephesians 2:12 In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.
Ephesians 2:13 But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.
Ephesians 2:15 He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups.
Ephesians 2:16 Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.
Ephesians 2:17 He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and peace to the Jews who were near.
Ephesians 2:18 Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.
Ephesians 2 A Temple for the Lord
Ephesians 2:19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.
Ephesians 2:20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
Ephesians 2:21 We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.
Ephesians 2:22 Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.

John 13 Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet
John 13:1 Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end.
John 13:2 It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
John 13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.
John 13:4 So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist,
John 13:5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.
John 13:6 When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
John 13:7 Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”
John 13:8 “No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!”Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.”
John 13:9 Simon Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!”
John 13:10 Jesus replied, “A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet, to be entirely clean. And you disciples are clean, but not all of you.”
John 13:11 For Jesus knew who would betray him. That is what he meant when he said, “Not all of you are clean.”
John 13:12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing?
John 13:13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
John 13:14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.
John 13:15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
John 13:16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.
John 13:17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
John 13 Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
John 13:18 “I am not saying these things to all of you; I know the ones I have chosen. But this fulfills the Scripture that says, ‘The one who eats my food has turned against me.’
John 13:19 I tell you this beforehand, so that when it happens you will believe that i am the Messiah.
John 13:20 I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.”
John 13:21 Now Jesus was deeply troubled, and he exclaimed, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me!”
John 13:22 The disciples looked at each other, wondering whom he could mean.
John 13:23 The disciple Jesus loved was sitting next to Jesus at the table.
John 13:24 Simon Peter motioned to him to ask, “Who’s he talking about?”
John 13:25 So that disciple leaned over to Jesus and asked, “Lord, who is it?”
John 13:26 Jesus responded, “It is the one to whom I give the bread I dip in the bowl.” And when he had dipped it, he gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot.
John 13:27 When Judas had eaten the bread, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus told him, “Hurry and do what you’re going to do.”
John 13:28 None of the others at the table knew what Jesus meant.
John 13:29 Since Judas was their treasurer, some thought Jesus was telling him to go and pay for the food or to give some money to the poor.
John 13:30 So Judas left at once, going out into the night.
John 13 Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial
John 13:31 As soon as Judas left the room, Jesus said, “The time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory, and God will be glorified because of him.
John 13:32 And since God receives glory because of the Son, he will give his own glory to the Son, and he will do so at once.
John 13:33 Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the Jewish leaders, you will search for me, but you can’t come where I am going.
John 13:34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
John 13:35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
John 13:36 Simon Peter asked, “Lord, where are you going?”And Jesus replied, “You can’t go with me now, but you will follow me later.”
John 13:37 “But why can’t I come now, Lord?” he asked. “I’m ready to die for you.”
John 13:38 Jesus answered, “Die for me? I tell you the truth, Peter—before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.
