In honor of Earth Day, we are proud to share our latest commitment to a sustainable future.

As a dedicated signatory firm of SE 2050, we are continuing our efforts towards more sustainable designs. Our 2026 ECAP is now officially available for review on the SE 2050 website. This plan outlines our specific strategies for reducing embodied carbon in our projects through innovative material use and carbon-smart design choices.

We are happy to announce that after years of analysis and ingenuity we have achieved the 200ft cantilever. Once thought impossible, we have found a novel technique of embedding industrial-strength neodymium magnets into structural foundations to achieve a 200-foot cantilever with zero back-spans.

We’re excited to announce the Mag-Lev Cantilever, a breakthrough in structural engineering that reduces Dead Load to a negative value. How? Well the first important step was adoption of the 5D Model Mainframe. While the first three dimensions handle the geometry, we use the 5th dimension to store the massive amounts of magnetic steel required—keeping it perfectly hidden from both the naked eye and the local building inspector.

The Fine Print: Structures must face North at all times to remain grounded. We are not responsible for any Cybertrucks that may be "captured" by the foundation's magnetic field.

Located in the heart of Breckenridge, these 16 luxury residences are taking shape in a stunning alpine setting. The design features a blend of wood and steel, bringing the architectural vision from DTJ DESIGN, Inc. to life.

Projects like this come with their own set of challenges, and it’s been great collaborating with a strong team throughout the process.

The highlight of the night was honoring Tim on his retirement and recognizing his years of dedication, leadership, and impact on our firm. Jirsa Hedrick Structural Engineers is entering a new era as our esteemed Principal, Tim Hickisch, officially retires after more than 35 years with the firm.

Throughout his career, Tim designed buildings of all shapes and sizes across Denver and the entire country. He approached every project with a signature blend of enthusiasm and curiosity, possessing a keen ability to identify potential challenges long before they surfaced. Tim’s passion for engineering was infectious, inspiring everyone who worked alongside him.

While his expertise spanned all material types, Tim was our resident "guru" for timber design, mentoring the entire team in the art of wood-framed projects. He was never afraid to dive into the details to ensure load paths were thoroughly developed—even on projects that weren't his own.

Tim is beloved for his kind spirit, his sharp sense of humor, and an unwavering work ethic. Please join us in celebrating Tim’s incredible career and wishing him the very best in his next chapter.
