Fabrication Friday: Part 2 of the Line Boring Process 🛠️⚙️✨

Remember that worn-out, ovaled-out pin hole we welded up last week? Here is the next step in the process!

Once the hole is filled back in with a fresh layer of weld, we set up our precision line boring machine. Watch as it cuts right through the new metal, boring it out to its exact factory dimensions.

To finish the job right, we don’t just leave it at the boring process, we also machine custom replacement pins right here in the shop to guarantee a flawless, tight fit when everything goes back together. 🔩✅

A Huge Milestone for Our Shop Family 🏆📜✨

Something truly incredible happened at the shop! We were honored to receive an official Congressional Commendation from Congressman Keith Self, recognizing 90 years of service and Texas craftsmanship here in Greenville.

Looking at this award, we can’t help but think about our roots starting all the way back in 1936 as Barnhardt Steel. Carrying that legacy forward today as DMC Steel is something we don't take lightly. For nearly a century, our family and crew have been dedicated to doing honest, hard work and building things that last.

An honor like this doesn't belong to a piece of paper, though, it belongs to our incredible shop crew who pours their talent into every weld, and to you, our customers. Generations of local families, contractors, and businesses have trusted us with their projects, and that is the real reason we are still here today.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for letting us be a part of this community for 90 years. We’re excited to keep building with you for many more to come! ❤️🎉

Fabrication Friday: Bringing This Heavy Bucket Back to Spec 🛠️🚜

Heavy equipment takes a beating. Over time, the main pin holes on tractor and excavator buckets get completely worn down and ovaled out from hard work.

Instead of scrapping a perfectly good bucket, our crew can weld up the worn holes and use our precision line boring setup to cut them right back to their original factory dimensions. We also machine custom replacement pins right here in the shop to ensure a perfect, tight fit when it all goes back together. 🔩✅
