This was made out of a piece of leaf spring and the handle is spalted maple.

We are elebrating our 20th wedding anniversary at the Red River gorge this weekend. After a day full of hiking we stopped in at Hops to have a drink and some food.

Today I am doing the leather work that should have been done last weekend. The new shoemakers knife that I created is working pretty well thus far.

On this episode of "Name that knife" I am making a shoemakers knife. I will hopefully be using this thing to cut out leather for my sheaths tomorrow.

I made a road trip down to one of my fellow blacksmiths shops to quench this machete today.
It was successful and a good time.

What's that? "You want to be fly like Mr. Watson when you grow up." Sure Billy, we all do.
Here's a tip. Don't run the top of your knife handle into the edge of the belt when finish grinding the edge of your knife. It's not cool and your friends will laugh at you.

Ah, good times! These things happen. I'll fix it and it will be even cooler.
