Indiana Pump Works, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Greenfield, Indiana.

Our service technicians are the backbone of our business and play an essential role in supporting Indiana’s municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who thinks logically, uses common sense and creativity to solve problems, and is ready to take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair pumps, motors, control panels, and other water and wastewater equipment.

Repair and rebuild a variety of mechanical equipment.

Diagnose electrical and control-system problems.

Start up and test new equipment.

Train customers on the proper operation and maintenance of their equipment.

Communicate clearly and professionally with customers.

Prepare or assist with service recommendations, repair estimates, and sales quotes.

Use precision measuring devices, electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

Serve as a technical resource and customer liaison while providing responsive service and support.

Maintain appropriate tools, parts, and inventory on the assigned service truck.

Learn Indiana Pump Works’ product lines and basic pumping applications.

Complete service records, job worksheets, photographs, vehicle logs, and CRM updates accurately and promptly.

Travel throughout Indiana to customer locations and job sites.

Work safely around wastewater facilities, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, and confined spaces in accordance with company procedures and applicable safety requirements.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

At least one year of hands-on experience working with engines, motors, pumps, industrial equipment, or other mechanical systems.

Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in working with your hands.

Dependable, punctual, and able to report to work as scheduled.

Positive attitude, good judgment, and willingness to learn.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, and field-service software.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to read or learn to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment cut sheets, and blueprints.

Willingness to travel throughout Indiana and work extended hours when needed.

Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Ability to successfully complete a background check, physical evaluation, and drug screening.

Preferred Experience

Technical school education or hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, or industrial maintenance work.

Experience with pumps, electric motors, control panels, motor starters, variable-frequency drives, or level-control systems.

Knowledge of electrical and control circuits.

Experience servicing municipal water or wastewater equipment.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. The employee must be able to:

Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and job-site conditions.

Enter and work in confined spaces when properly trained, authorized, and equipped.

Safely lift, carry, move, and position tools, parts, and equipment.

Operate a service vehicle (clean driving record) and travel between customer locations.

Compensation and Benefits

$22–$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
