🔧 Jordan Tracy and Ryan Popovich showed up to the Montana Tech Highlands College Career Fair in Butte with high energy and a purpose.
The Miller AugmentedArc VR Welding System was the centerpiece of the day, giving students from Butte and the surrounding area a hands-on look at what a career in the trades actually feels like. Whether they are headed to a university program or straight into the workforce, we want them walking in the door already knowing what is possible and already knowing us they can rely on us. We had a blast - check out this video and see all the fun for yourself!

🦺 When John Foster suits up, you know the job is getting done right.
Our safety sales manager recently donned a full hazmat suit to conduct a hands-on glove evaluation in a controlled area. This is what real safety expertise looks like. Not just knowing the gear, but putting it on and doing the work yourself.
We do what it takes.

Did You Know?

The first safety glasses designed specifically to protect workers' eyes were invented by machinist Powell Johnson in the late 1800s. Working around dangerous machinery, he saw firsthand how common eye injuries were, and developed protective eyewear to help keep workers safe.

Today, whether you're welding, grinding, cutting, or fabricating, safety glasses remain one of the simplest and most important pieces of PPE in the shop. A lot has changed since Powell Johnson's original design, but the goal is still the same: protect your vision so you can keep building what matters.

The technology has changed. The need for eye protection hasn't.

Watch rust and grime disappear before your eyes!

Laser cleaning feels like science fiction, but it's a real-world technology that's transforming metal restoration and surface preparation. With incredible precision, a laser can strip away unwanted contaminants and reveal clean metal underneath in seconds.

What's even more impressive? Laser cleaning is now built into many modern laser welding systems, giving fabricators the ability to clean, prep, and weld with a single machine.

It's one of those technologies you have to see to believe.

Stop by and check it out for yourself. The results are amazing.

📖 There is a difference between a supplier who knows your name and one who knows your account number.
When your gas runs out on a Friday afternoon or you need someone who understands your operation, local matters. We wrote about exactly that in our latest Gendco Happenings blog post.

🔩 Your vise should go where the work is. The FEIN VersaMAG VISE 160 L does exactly that.
Powered by a permanent magnet with 2,810 pounds of holding force, this magnetic vise mounts instantly to any magnetizable surface with no drilling and no setup headaches. Position it at 30% to move it where you need it, lock it to 100% and it is not going anywhere.
Ready to use up to ten times faster than a traditional drill-press vise, it clamps securely with both depth and back stops for repeatability, handles pipe work with a built-in V-groove, and converts quickly from a vise to a welding table setup. Six inch jaw width, large ergonomic handle, and a chip tray for easy cleanup.
This is the kind of tool that changes how a shop operates. Come talk to us about FEIN.

🔧 The future is in good hands, and we got to see it up close.
Jordan Tracy and Ryan Popovich represented Gendco at the Montana Contractors Association pop-up event in Butte, held at O'Keefe Drilling, where more than 200 students from grades 6 through 12 came out to explore careers in the trades.
Our contribution to the day was the Miller AugmentedArc VR Welding System, an augmented reality welding trainer that lets students experience the feel of welding before they ever strike a real arc. Watching kids pick it up for the first time and light up was something else.
Events like this matter. Getting students in front of real tools and real tradespeople at a young age changes trajectories. We are proud to support the MCA and the Let's Build MT mission of connecting the next generation to the careers that will build this state.
The future is bright, Butte.
