We've seen some creative ways to tighten CNC tool holders! This one might be our favorite.

Did you know that tool holders need to be tightened to spec? Each tool holder has a specific tolerance and it makes a difference. Over-tightening can decrease collet life & effectiveness and under-tightening can... well, hurt someone.

Using a tightening station paired with a torque wrench is the most safe and efficient way to tighten CNC tool holders.

Caller:
“Hey Dave, I own a couple CNC routers and my router bits are so worn out I think one of them fought in the Civil War.”

Dave Ramsey:
“Well, if your tooling is older than your truck payment, we may have a problem.”

Caller:
“I keep buying the cheapest tools I can find online, and now my routers sound horrible.”

Dave Ramsey:
“That’s because cheap tools are expensive, Kiddo. You’re saving nickels and losing dollars.”

Caller:
