A few WIP photos of a new crossbow stock. This one is made of sugar maple, clad in cherry for the look, with a wear strip of purpleheart down the center of what will be the channel for the bolts. I hope y'all enjoy. 🙏

A hand-forged, 15 inch buckler that I finished putting together today. Time to strip the steel and blacken it!

A little bowmaker's draw knife, hand forged from ChroMo 6150 steel. This steel was originally designed for hard wearing applications, and because of its strength and durability it is a favorite the world over of modern swordsmiths and toolmakers. I'm honored to be able to forge tools like this, and this one is going to a wonderful friend in Oregon who is a fellow bowmaker and craftsman.

A bowie knife and leather sheath I just fashioned. The artwork is meant to imitate cave paintings, and was scribed to the surface in pen. After this, I heated the surface with a heat gun to set the ink, and laid on the first coat(of many) of mink oil/beeswax mix. There's still some work to be done, but in all I'm quite happy with it.

A leather tab for heavier bows, made from 3 layers of heavy tooling leather and saturated with beeswax and mink oil. I've never made one I liked more.

Antler might be my favorite handle material to work with. Not only is it incredibly dense and stable, but also it is much softer in the core; this means easy drilling for tangs without a compromise to structural integrity. It's smelly to work with, but gorgeous when it's finished.

The incomparable Taylor Hodgkinson , here pictured with her custom made Osage bow, dubbed "Vixen", in her chosen colors, with one authentic silver concho attached below the handle. I couldn't be more proud, more smitten, or more taken with you. Marrying my best friend is a privilege, and anyone who gets to marry a woman or your caliber is a lucky man indeed. Mo Charraig, my rock, I love the bones of you. From your Irish eyes to your English hair, I've never met a woman like you, not anywhere.
