LPOA completed a new pulse gondola at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the 1,500-acre motorsports and entertainment venue outside Austin, Texas. The gondola was commissioned on September 18 and will carry VIP members to The Paddock, a trackside venue near the circuit’s iconic Turn 1.

Our crew kept pace with every deadline through the Texas heat and ongoing construction, often working through the night. The gondola officially opens to members in 2027 alongside the new clubhouse, which will be home to one of the world’s most exclusive private driving clubs. However, members will be able to ride the gondola and preview the facilities during this weekend's race events, with practice underway today, qualifying tomorrow, and the race on Sunday, October 25.

It’s one of many LPOA lifts and gondolas built for applications beyond the ski industry.

Nothing builds a team quite like a good lunch. Last week we rolled food trucks onto our Grand Junction campus for our annual employee appreciation luncheon, and the whole crew took a break from building lifts to share a meal on us. A huge thank you to our staff, whose skill and hard work give us the power to move people.

“Everything we build starts right here on this campus with the people who show up every day and do it right,” said President and CEO Daren Cole. “Lunch is just a small token of our appreciation, and we’re happy to keep serving it up every year.”

Getting a 35-passenger 3S cabin onto the trade show floor at APTA TRANSform & EXPO in Chicago took some doing. Then again, we’re used to hauling lift towers up mountainsides. Riding on three cables for stability across long spans and high winds, the 3S opens up a world of urban applications, from river crossings to transit-hub connectors. The Pipeline Project brought the classroom to the mountain at Snowbird, Utah, this week, and LPOA was proud to be their workforce partner. The workforce initiative connects high school CTE students with careers in the ski and mountain resort industry.

Nearly 200 students and educators joined pros from roughly 15 resorts and industry partners (totaling 84 ski industry participants). Grouped like classrooms, students rotated through sessions led by LPOA, Skytrac, Prinoth, SLICK and others, wiring circuits, walking lift terminals, climbing into a snowcat, participating in Career Q/A panels, and practicing mock interviews.

A typical career fair gives students about 60 seconds per booth. This gave them a full day with the people who make the industry what it is. Students who want to go further can join the Pipeline Passport program and build a roadmap of courses and credentials toward a mountain career.

Thanks to Snowbird for hosting, and to every student, educator, and pro who spent the day with us.

The education continues with the next Pipeline Project events at Gunstock Mountain Resort on October 21st and then at Killington Resort on October 23rd!

At Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, S.C., getting from the zoo to the botanical garden now means a ride 90 feet above the Saluda River. The Saluda Skyride gondola links the two campuses in a single scenic crossing, with cabins that welcome strollers and wheelchairs.

We brought that story to the 2026 AZA Annual Conference in Portland, Ore., and came home with a long list of new connections across the zoo and aquarium community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to talk about moving guests around growing campuses.

Zoos and aquariums ask a lot of their transportation. It has to carry crowds efficiently while becoming part of the experience itself. We're excited to help more of this community find solutions that do both, efficiently and elegantly.

Across our POMA and LEITNER family, gondolas now carry guests above ZooParc de Beauval in France, Cabárceno Nature Park in Spain and Chimelong Safari Park and Ocean Kingdom in China, while another POMA system connects directly with Taipei Zoo.

The Roosevelt Island Tram is an amazing piece of machinery, but it’s more than that. Keeping the Tram operating safely and reliably takes more than engineering—it takes people who care about one another and about the community they serve every day. Some you see every day, smiling and greeting Tram riders, and some work behind-the-scenes and through the night ensuring the Tram runs safely and reliably every day.

This week, our team took a well-deserved break to enjoy a summer barbecue together. They were joined by LPOA president and CEO Daren Cole who flew in to honor and celebrate this amazing team. It's moments like these that remind us that behind every safe ride is a dedicated group of operators, technicians and support staff who take pride in serving the Roosevelt Island community.
