My son is wild. Like he will run off and not look back kind of wild.

Today the girls had dance lessons and a wonderful mom was helping me keep him entertained, but by the time lessons were over we were both sweating.

As soon as big sis came out of the dance room, he bolted to the stairs towards the exit and mind you it’s a tall staircase. So anyway, the kind woman and I both just shared a glance and I wave and yell goodbye as I run towards my son. Mind you, there’s a lot of other people leaving and coming in, so by the time I reach him, he’s already half way down and I’m just waiting to hear him roll down. 😭

I try to catch up quickly while holding the baby and looking over my shoulder making sure my oldest is keeping up.

We finally make it out. And to top it all off, he starts running and this time I’m sure he’s going to attempt to cross the street on his own.

I don’t ever trick him but today I had to try. I yelled for him to come see the candy shop and asked if he wanted candy. Of course, he comes running back, so I grab him and load him up into the truck.

…I’m tired.

I think it’s time for a toddler harness?
Those security leashes?

I’ve never owned one. Because I never needed one. But I think it’s time.

Send this tired mom your tips and tricks for keeping kids safe and restrained while out & about.

Oh, and share a story with me about your wild child. 🤍 I’d love to read them and know I’m not the only one running around after little humans. 🫶🏼

Sometimes I look at pictures of us and it hits me all over again…

Oh. This is the life I prayed for.

Not perfect, not always easy, but ours. And I’m really, really grateful for it. 🤍

With temptation and the spirit of chaos running rampant in today’s world, it’s easy to look outside of our home and want for more or for different things. 🌎

Choosing to stay faithful to ourselveves and to those around us can be most challenging with this ever-growing presence of social media.

Practicing healthy habits within our relationships and with ourselves can help keep that constant reminder of what our heart truly desires and needs.

And with that said…these are the views I’m after. ✈️

Not because I’m chasing a bigger life, but because I’m learning to see the beauty in the one God has already given me.

I’m learning that contentment is realizing I’m already living inside so many of the prayers I once whispered.

And honestly?
I don’t need more.

I just want the perspective to recognize how blessed I already am. 🤍

My baby will take bottle from others the times I have to be away.
But it’s like she knows I’m near other times and will refuse bottle.

So she goes everywhere momma goes.

My oldest called my mom last night asking for a movie date. And my mom being the best grandma set the date for today, because why wait?

As I dropped off the girls at the movie theatre, my bubba began to ask to watch the movie too and I almost caved…as if we hadn’t tried taking him just before dad left and he made us all chase him around. 😵‍💫

Thankfully my good mom-senses told me to stay firm, and we made a trip to Queen instead for some icecream.

No tears.
No tantrums.

Happy boy.
Happy mama.

Except he did take my brown sugar cookie dough blizzard and I am stuck with the strawberry cheesecake one. But that’s ok, there’s a reason I always pick my favorites for the kids. 😅

It’s a win-win.

I’ve been holding this video in my drafts for a week.

And honestly? I’m still very much intimidated by posting myself. My face. My voice. The way I talk. The way I look when I’m talking.

And the funny thing is every time I have conversations with other people who are trying to create content, I hear the same thing.

“I hate my voice.”
“I feel awkward on camera.”
“I don’t know what to do with my face.”
“I’m scared people will judge me.”

So why are we so shy to post ourselves?

Is it fear?
Embarrassment?
Fear of being perceived?
Fear that someone we know will see it and judge us?

Maybe it’s because creating content is really allowing people to see you.

And that can feel incredibly vulnerable.

So, I’m posting it anyway.

Maybe confidence doesn’t come before we put ourselves out there, but rather because we do.

Raising butterflies has me thinking about motherhood in a whole new way. 🦋

There’s something so bittersweet about watching something you love transform right in front of you.

You want to keep them close forever, but you’re also so curious to see who they’ll become, what they’ll grow into, and where their wings will take them.

Maybe that’s the hardest and most beautiful part of loving something deeply, knowing that one day, you have to let it fly. 🤍

Today we learned about eclipses, watched the sky change, and let the kids’ curiosity lead the way.

I hope they always remember that learning doesn’t have to feel like school. Sometimes it looks like wonder, questions, dirty shoes, and standing outside together in awe of something bigger than us. 🤍

Just another little homeschool memory I’ll tuck away forever.

There’s something bittersweet about watching something you cared for finally become free. 🦋

You spend so much time protecting them, watching them grow, waiting for their wings…

And then, the most loving thing you can do is let them fly.

Maybe that’s the lesson they were here to teach me. 🤍

Jumping into homeschooling with these beauties!

We were out multiple times a day searching all over the milkweeds for caterpillars. 🐛 And we found soooo many! (Like 20?)

Seeing the kids learn while having fun is the best.

Now we wait while they continue growing and transforming. 🐛🦋
