Ever wonder how underground utilities like waterlines, sewer lines, electric services or gas lines are located without the need to dig them up? This process takes, SOME... of the guesswork out.
Tools like the RIDGID SeekTech locator send an electrical signal through a copper wire buried with the utilities. The hand held reciever then allows you to walk the site toning for the strongest signal. We typically paint or flag the location as we go. Ultimately enabling identification and mapping under ground utilities before any digging begins.
If you ever see streets marked with green spray paint, that's sewer, blue is water, red is electric, yellow is gas, and orange is telephone or fiber optics. That one gets expensive quick, if you force locate....
