The complex geometry of the building was accommodated by the use of numerous steel bents on the roof, moment frames and braced frames for shear (in order to maximize the views of Aspen and the mountain), stepped cantilevered beams for the large balconies, structural steel with multiple transfers to support the floors and massive fireplaces, complex cast-in-place concrete for the mechanical bunker and cantilevered parking deck, and micro piles for the support of an infinity edge pool that became a part of the project after the foundation was complete.

9,000 SF duplex in three levels located in a challenging site. This design required a 30 ft soil-nailed wall to stabilize the hillside in which it is built.

In addition, it required efficient use of concrete retaining walls of the sides, which we designed on 3D finite element software, and steel rigid gables to accommodate the vaulted ceilings in hip configuration.

This year we are celebrating our 20th year in business. In those 20 years we have designed hundreds of structures ranging from high visibility projects to high end residential projects. We thank God first, for we have been blessed many times and then, we thank you, our clients!
