The Department of Land Resources at Glenville State University is proud to announce the Fall 2025 Internship Seminar Series.

As part of their internship course requirements, students from a variety of majors will present their internship experiences in short five-minute presentations. The series begins on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, and runs through Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:00 PM in Waco Center Rooms 227–228.

After yesterday’s difficult news, the Glenville State University family and friends extend their heartfelt support to Alderson Broaddus students, faculty, and staff.

To assist new and continuing ABU students impacted by this new development, GSU President Dr. Mark Manchin has decided to award scholarships to all ABU students. In addition, GSU will guarantee housing placement and our financial aid staff will help with equivalent financial aid packaging.

During this uncertain time, Glenville State’s enrollment team is ready to help ensure a smooth transition for all ABU students and will be fast-tracking our free, expedited enrollment process.

NOW HIRING - ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
This primary position includes inspections of Oil & Gas constructed projects for permit compliance with Best Management Practices for Erosion & Sediment Control and stream & wetland crossings. Tasks include the collection and management of data through electronic hand-held devices as well as the production of daily field reports. Other responsibilities may also include field sampling, analysis, and technical field support for various projects.

This position will include supporting stream and wetland delineations. The successful candidate may work on field teams and participate in permitting and compliance activities for a variety of projects primarily in the energy sector. The work may involve a combination of office and field work and will include field delineations and developing environmental technical documents and permit applications on behalf of clients. The position may also include other environmental studies.
Requirements:
• BS in an Environmental, Biological, or Ecological Science;
• 0-2 years experience with a minimum of 6 months experience with field environmental inspection required;
• Experience with oil and gas pipelines, compressor stations and well pad construction is preferred;
• Able to prepare and interpret permit documents, environmental reports, correspondence documents, calculations, and conduct analyses;
• Background experience using GPS devices and ArcGIS is desired;
• Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong problem solving abilities and analytical skills; and
• Ability to conduct work year-round in adverse climate and field conditions.
• Compliance with site safety is required;
• Strong organizational and communication skills required;
• Ability to build relationships, work with a team and communicate with contractors and clients;
• Must be able to work independently, show strong problem-solving capabilities and a willingness to use professional judgment;
• Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines outside of normal working hours;
• Willing to work primarily in West Virginia with potential assignments in other states (requiring overnight stay);
