This 60,500 lb. Impregnation Vessel is headed to a pulp and paper mill in West Monroe, Louisiana, where it will serve as a crucial component in the chemical pulping process.
The vessel is fabricated with 2205 Duplex stainless steel, measures 38’-9” long x 10’-0” in diameter and is traveling with additional components, including new connection piping and access platforms for equipment attached to the vessel.
From fabrication, machining, waterjet cutting, and assembly by Miller Industrial Manufacturing to the upcoming removal and installation by the field services division of Miller Mechanical Services, this project is a strong example of Miller’s full-service industrial capabilities.
We are proud of the talented manufacturing team behind this project and proud to be part of Upstate New York’s strong manufacturing tradition, where skilled trades, industrial craftsmanship, and manufacturing continue to drive quality, job opportunity, and the local economy.

Pictured are sand separator bottoms fabricated at Miller from Duplex 2205 stainless steel that will be sent to a pulp and paper facility in Texas. These are ASME code vessels with surface cladding on the fl**ge as well as an internal ring that is machined here at Miller.
There are screen baskets that are set in these bottoms that will filter sand from the wood pulp before it continues through the continuous system.

Seen in the photos are the last stages of the manufacturing of our latest scarfing machine. This machine is approximately 22 Ft. in height and 29 ft. in width and weighs about 96,000 pounds. Its composition is thousands of pieces of machined and fabricated parts, 90% of which were manufactured and assembled by the hard-working individuals at Miller Industrial Manufacturing in a small town in upstate New York. Upon completion in late April, this piece will be shipped to an area near the West Pacific. It will be used to scarf ingots of steel in a manufacturing plant. A remarkable example of a massive machine, manufactured in an unexpected locale in upstate New York by talented craftsmen.

The Miller Waterjet Dept. is currently working on a large production order for a pharmaceutical and medical device company.

This process starts with cutting precision blanks with our 87k PSI Flow Waterjets.

Once the blanks are cut they are 75% complete and need finish machining. The next step involves a move to our Haas Mill with a combination of high-feed drills and countersinks.

This process takes approximately 60 seconds to complete a part. This highlights the importance of being able to Waterjet Cut a large volume of precision blanks to make final machining fast and efficient.

Another satisfied customer due to Miller’s quality and efficiency.
