This stainless steel shaft came in with a worn bearing fit that needed to be addressed.

We started by checking runout in the lathe, built the material back up with TIG welding, and brought it back to size with a clean, machined finish.

After rebuilding the cross slide screw and nut assembly and chasing down DRO issues, we’re putting the final touches on a lathe that’s now back to smooth, accurate operation.
