Mike went to school for welding, excelling at the kind of precision work that takes a steady hand and an eye for detail. So when he joined VanAire, little did he know that 10 years later he would be operating a robotic welder, manufacturing 600-pound spools, actuator valve brackets that withstand the harshest of environments, and Engineered Valve Automation Hardware that gets shipped around the world.

When you ask Mike why he has spent a decade with the same company, his answer is not about the products we make or the consistent challenge of learning new things. It’s about the people. We’re thrilled to hear his answer because, as we always say, our people are our most important asset.

Chris Fabbri and Tony Lambert are proud to be attending the Industrial Valve Summit in Bergamo, Italy this week, where they will be participating in technical sessions focused on global standards and best practices for Valve Automation Hardware.

They are also looking forward to walking the exhibit halls, meeting with valve automation specialists from around the world, and continuing to learn, collaborate, and strengthen VanAire’s commitment to engineering standards, quality, and continual improvement across the valve industry.

For over a century, the Manufacturers Standardization Society of the Valve and Fittings Industry has helped shape and advance industry standards, and VanAire is proud to support that mission through active participation and technical leadership. Our Director of Engineering & Standards, Christopher Fabbri, recently celebrated his fifth year as a member with MSS and now serves as Vice Chair of the TC-408 committee, which focuses on actuator interface standards, dimensional consistency, and the mechanical integrity of valve automation assemblies, including oversight of MSS SP-101, MSS SP-102, and MSS SP-162.

At VanAire, our commitment to quality, operational excellence, continual improvement, and engineering standards is central to who we are. Organizations like MSS play a critical role in advancing safety, reliability, and consistency across the valve industry through collaboration and the development of rigorous industry standards.

In February, our team conducted a hands-on lab demonstrating dissolved air flotation for Mr. Isaacson’s 6th grade science class. As part of the experience, students were challenged to create an advertisement for the VanAire Wastewater Department.

Selecting a single winner proved to be a difficult task due to the creativity and effort demonstrated by all students. To show our appreciation for their outstanding artwork, we provided VanAire shirts for the entire class.

The winning advertisement, created by Stella — pictured holding her design — was featured in the Daily Press last week.
