I unfortunately had to take some time off due to some car issues, but I got some time in tonight.
Pin holes drilled, handle wood is glueing, and I've got a hard blade ready for the tempering oven.

Still coming together nicely. Just slower than expected

I worked myself into a corner and I don't have the means to complete the knife as planned, so I thought about it and tried again.
I know I'm going to use this beautiful piece of purple heart.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to include some of this bog oak

Rough grinding came sooner than expected. Were about ready for heat treat tomorrow if all goes well

A little grinding, a little bending, and we got a straight edge with curved handles that are a little lacking in the handle area. But that will come soon enough.
We're getting closer!

I've decided I want to make a bow out of some hickory I have floating around the workshop, but to make the bow, I need to make a tool. So tonight we start the draw knife project.

I'm using mystery spring steel that has hardened pretty well for me in the past, and I've gotten a pretty good start.

Tomorrow we should have a rough grind, bent tangs, and possibly the rough fit for the handles.

Who else wants one of these in their kitchen?

In the spirit of trying new things, here's a plant hanger.
I forgot to take pictures of the bars before they were riveted together, which I'm a little sad about. But all in all I'm pretty happy with the finished result.

It can accommodate up to a 6 inch diameter pot. Finished with beeswax to protect it from the elements.
