Key Responsibilities
路 Customer Service: Deliver personalized assistance and expert advice to customers; resolve complaints promptly; ensure a positive shopping experience in all areas of the store.
路 Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of fishing equipment, tackle, bait, and accessories; stay up to date with the latest industry trends and products.
路 Merchandising: Develop attractive displays and product arrangements; monitor inventory levels; coordinate with suppliers and manage stock replenishment.
路 Sales Performance: Analyze sales data; implement strategies to achieve sales targets; motivate staff to meet and exceed goals.
路 Community Engagement: Organize fishing workshops, demonstrations, and local events; build relationships with local fishing clubs and organizations.
路 Compliance & Safety: Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and best practices related to fishing equipment and bait handling.
路 Installing and removing docks in the Spring & Fall.
路 Working with customers to build a dock that will fit their needs and budget.
Qualifications & Requirements
路 Proven retail management experience, preferably in sporting goods, outdoor equipment, or related fields.
路 While professional fishing experience is not mandatory, a strong passion for the sport and working knowledge of fishing equipment and techniques are essential for success in this role.
路 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
路 Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
路 Proficiency in inventory control and point-of-sale systems.
路 **This position requires some flexibility, as store hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak fishing season. The main hours during the summer will be 5:15am to 2:00pm. Fall and winter months starting at 6:15am to 3:00pm. **
路 Physical ability to lift and move merchandise (75lb +) and docks
路 While the fishing and hunting section is your priority, helping customers in other areas of the store is also crucial.
路 Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
路 High school diploma or equivalent required
