EM&S, LLC. Garrett, Indiana, is a family-owned manufacturer in the design, manufacture, and application of fractional horsepower Unit Bearing fan motors. Our motors are suitable for a wide range of fan applications where quiet operation and long life are a priority. We are hiring a full-time, on-site Purchasing Manager with hours from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, with benefits available. We have a great work environment and are looking for a dependable, friendly person to join our growing team.
Purchasing Manager Responsibilities
-Communicate with suppliers in a timely and efficient manner
-Purchase all production materials, tooling, and supplies
-Work with suppliers, engineering, and production to seek out material cost savings opportunities
-Negotiate cost savings to assure lowest cost possible is achieve
-Work with Quality/Engineering to communicate and correct supplier quality issues
-Return defective parts to suppliers
-Prepare and update receiving folders
-Update PO's and cost
-Check shortages daily and provide timely and accurate due dates for production
-Maintain item master and vendor information
-Review and maintain vendor performance and supplier surveys
-Prepare inventory tags and work with controller and production to assure the most accurate physical inventory is taken
-Follow up Physical inventory with re-counts and corrections
-Perform general administrative tasks, such and copying, and filing
-Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel
-Accurate Data entry skills
-Shipping and inventory
Purchasing Manager Requirements and Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Experience in purchasing or an administrative role
-Outstanding phone and email etiquette
-Able to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
-Exceptional communication skills
-Experience from a Manufacturing environment preferred
Pay is commensurate with experience.
