I learned recently from one of our family historians that our ancestor, Alexander Faulkner, was commissioned to participate in the forming/surveying of the boundary between North Carolina and Tennessee in 1802. Very proud of my heritage in NC that goes back over 200 years of serving and improving North Carolina!

When we inspect the work of "un-licensed" contractors we often find that an important step or two was missed...like installing a concrete foundation before installing masonry piers :)

Our latest design to be completed in construction is the new business for the Triangle... The Softball Academy! Owner Shawn Rychcik is a decorated softball athlete having played in world wide tournaments representing the USA and also coaching collegiate softball, most recently NC State University. His new facility boasts indoor batting cages, training space, and pitching space. This is the only facility in the greater Triangle area that is dedicated to women's softball and they will serve players age 9 to 25. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey Coach!

Here are some great questions you should be asking your home inspectors:

1) What safety concerns exist here ( fire hazard, respiratory hazard and water hazard, fall hazards, etc...)?

2) What would you be most concerned about if you were buying this house?

3) Are any of these issues noted in your report considered normal wear and tear?

4) What should be the priority of repairs to make first based on the list of deficiencies in your report?

What do you know about EIFS? Most are scared of this wall system as an envelope for home or building. If installed correctly and inspected during the installation it can be a great envelope that balances cost and performance. This is one of our latest projects in which we provided detailed inspection services to assure the water tight integrity of the building.
