We are proud to announce the grand opening of the new Boy Scouts multipurpose complex at Camp Potomac in Oldtown, Maryland. Bennett, Brewer & Associates provided all the civil and structural engineering design, planning, surveying, permitting and construction support for the project. Our design partner, LAI, Inc., provided architectural building design services.
Camp Potomac has served as a camp for generations of local Scouts since 1946. This facility consolidates various Scout functions and includes professional offices, a retail Scout shop, state-of-the-art classroom space, conference room, camp master lodging and a detached garage for maintenance and additional hands-on training opportunities.
The building will provide year-round training opportunities to help sustain and increase youth participation in the Scouting America program.

Congratulations to Clym Environmental Services on opening their third Maryland facility in the Frostburg Industrial Park, Allegany County. Bennett, Brewer & Associates provided all of the civil engineering design, planning, surveying, environmental permitting and construction support services for the project.

The new 10,000 square foot aggregation facility and prototype devices use ozone generated from solar power and are the first of their kind—disinfecting biohazards efficiently and sustainably, thereby reducing greenhouse gases. BBA designed the site and supporting infrastructure to accommodate a 10,000 square foot future expansion of the facility.

In addition to the creation of new local jobs, Clym is partnering with Allegany College and Frostburg State University to provide cleantech training and educational opportunities.

Cheers to the 1812 Brewery on completion of their latest facility expansion! Bennett, Brewer & Associate was part of the design team with EADS Architects and East Hills Engineering to produce a full civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design/permit package. BBA provided civil engineering design and permitting services.
The new 4,000 square foot farm brewery building will accommodate capacity expansion necessary to meet increasing customer demand. The space is solely dedicated to production, including all new equipment and controls for mashing, brewing, fermentation, filtration and canning. Building and site construction was performed by Carl Belt, Inc., a local contractor.
Established in 2017, the 1812 Brewery is a family owned and operated craft brewery venue. Situated on a historic farm in the Evitts Creek Valley, stop by and experience the tradition and craftsmanship evident in every glass.

Congratulations to REV Renewables who celebrated the operation of its Jade Meadow I Solar Energy facility in Frostburg, Maryland during a ribbon cutting with legislators, community leaders, and industry partners on September 24th.

BBA was proud to provide surveying and consulting support starting from the early development through the final construction phase of the project. This 20-megawatt (MW) project will generate enough electricity to power approximately 3,000 homes each year.

Jade Meadow I is sited on 85 acres of reclaimed surface coal mine land. The facility is grid connected and includes approximately 50,000 solar panels. Jade Meadow I will diversify energy generation in Maryland and help the state achieve its renewable portfolio standard, while building upon REV’s existing operational footprint in Maryland. ☀️

Congratulations to the Miner Memorial Committee on finalizing the next stage towards the completion of the memorial in Frostburg!

Plans for the memorial were developed by Bennett, Brewer and Associates and a rendering of the site was done by A.C. Armstrong Design. Lashley Construction, also of Frostburg, will complete the construction.

Amazing photos of Constellation’s Criterion wind project in Oakland, Maryland which is underway with the installation of new, high efficiency rotors, turbine blades and generators at the 28-unit site.

Constellation’s Criterion wind project in Oakland, Maryland is underway with the installation of new, high efficiency rotors, turbine blades and generators at the 28-unit site.

BBA provided all of the civil engineering design, surveying, and transportation analysis for the project.

Constellation is improving the efficiency and increasing the output of its Criterion wind farm, extending the life of the facility for 20 years. This move will deliver more carbon-free electricity to the region and launch a $350 million effort to increase the output and lifespan of the company’s renewable energy portfolio. The Criterion Re-Power is the latest in a series of investments Constellation has made to lead the nation’s response to the climate crisis and help states like Maryland accelerate clean-energy growth initiatives.

The project is expected to be completed before year end. The older turbine blades and equipment will be recycled.

Required Skills & Required Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience required
• Knowledge of Carlson Survey, ArcMap/ArcGIS Software a plus
• Microsoft Office
• Able to work overtime as required.
• Able to work out of town, if required
• Valid driver's license
• Able to pass drug/alcohol screening
