What a fascinating trip for us in Chile officially delivering a machine to our first customer in the country. Viña Luis Felipe Edwards is an awesome group of individuals looking to farm more efficiently. It was crucially important for them that the machine would be able to work in several different trellis systems and that is what Vmech delivered.

The future of farming demands growers across the world to implement newfound ideas that instill proof of concept and hard backed numbers that will ultimately increase profit margins. Moreover, the current industry calls for an advanced system of managing workforce and machines. Global issues are solved first by those willing to innovate quickly. VLFE and other growers in Chile are taking those necessary strides.

Our first machine in Chile, South America was put to work this last week. Here is a live video displaying some of the pruning task's it was completing. The vineyard was not perfect for the machine, but being that the Chariot is capable of being manipulated to accommodate most vineyards, we were able to accomplish the goal these grower's had in mind.

This company has a couple thousand acres of grapes, which entails many different trellis systems we were up against. With that, we swapped the head configuration around multiple times to satisfy multiple trellis styles.

Overall, that is going to be the case for a long time. No pruning machine just shows up to the field and works without any change. Each grower develops different trellis systems for different varieties to in the end, provide a diverse set of products.

In Chile, cost of labor is currently not the huge problem. The bigger problem is amount of labor. These growers struggle finding workers to contribute in their operation when farming the grapes which is the ultimate reason they invested into a Chariot. We had such a great time meeting many growers and can't wait to provide more machines in South America to help progress their industry.

- This machine was operating at 1.75 mph.
- Quarter mile rows were finished in 5.5 minutes flat.
- 3.5 acres were finished in 1 hour.
- 30 acres finished in one days shift.
- The alternative cost to this application in this area was 100 dollars per acre.
- 400 acres would cost $40,000 to remove the suckers taking the alternative route to complete this application.

The time taken to finish this task in the vineyard would have been 5x to 10x days longer without The Chariot. How much is time really worth to you?

It's worth everything to us. We push ourselves every day to come up with new ways to accomplish another task in the most efficient way possible.
No two vineyards are the same. No two growers share the same philosophy when it comes to farming. Given the window to prune has tightened up from all of the rainfall - farmers are having to cover more acres within a shorter time frame.
