City of Fremont Economic Development is hosting our
10th Annual
While pivoting from past in-person tours this year to VIRTUAL we are working with local Ohlone College and Fremont USD students
featuring pre-recorded tours and more from Fremont-based manufacturers such as ALOM Technologies, Bay Area Circuits, Boehringer Ingelheim, Evolve Manufacturing, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Manufacturing (MFG) Day started in 2012 and is now observed every first Friday in October to empower the industry and encourage businesses to open their doors to the next generation of workers. As Fremont’s largest industry, manufacturing accounts for more than 1 in 4 jobs.
The City is excited to participate in this annual celebration and continue the impactful work being done by manufacturing companies nationwide once again.
is excited to celebrate the impactful work being done by local companies as we educate the next generation of workers on the many fulfilling career possibilities in this field.
Last year’s MFG Day welcomed up and coming professionals, students, and teachers and included live virtual Q&A sessions with Fremont-based manufacturers. This year’s format will be similar, featuring pre-recorded tours (featured below) along with a virtual Q&A session where students and teachers can engage with employers utilizing a virtual platform created by FUSD, allowing for more than 500 student participants – the most students the City has ever engaged with at this event. This new, even more flexible format allows more students to participate and is ideal for building the future of the advanced manufacturing workforce.
