Are you a serious adventure seeker wishing to explore overhead environments? Sign up for our upcoming Cavern Diver course! This course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge for cavern and overhead environment diving within the limits of light pe*******on. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper planning, procedures, techniques and hazards of cavern diving.

What you can expect to learn:

The TDI Cavern Diver course takes an in-depth look at all of the following and more:

Policy for cavern diving
Gas management procedures and management to include dissimilar volumes
Psychological considerations of cavern diving
Equipment considerations including:
Cylinder options
Regulator options
Buoyancy compensator/harness options
Proper weighting
Reel options
Equipment configurations
Communication (light and hand signals)
Swimming techniques
Body posture/trim
Buoyancy control
Line following
Propulsion (finning) techniques
Physiology
Breathing techniques
Stress management
Cavern environment
Cavern conservation
Problem solving
Emergency procedures
Equipment failure
Silting conditions
Accident analysis
Cavern diving etiquette
Review of dive tables and decompression theory

What’s in it for you?

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in cavern diving activities without direct supervision so long as the following limits are adhered to:

The diving activities approximate those of training
Planned dives do not exceed diver’s current certification level
Pe*******on is limited to the “rule of thirds,” OR 1/6th if using doubles to a maximum depth of 40 metres/130 feet
Pe*******on is limited to 61 linear metres/200 linear feet from the surface
Proper cavern diving equipment must be used
Maintain a continuous guideline
No restrictions or areas that are too small for 2 divers to swim side by side
Safety stops as appropriate or necessary

Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certification

Required equipment: at a minimum, full standard scuba, a dive computer, primary reel (minimum of 250’) safety spool (minimum 100’) line markers, 2 flashlights, hand mount for flashlight, line cutter/cutting device.
* This class can can be taken in single tank recreational gear OR doubles/sidemount. If you wish to take class in doubles/sidemount, appropriate certification (intro to tech or sidemount class) is required

Class duration: 3 days

Class pricing: $1200 include instructor(s) for the 3 days and e-learning. Pricing does NOT include airfills, entry fees, or lodging.
* any/all rentals, and gas fills are available extra cost. Lodging suggestions available.

Designed to be taken as the next step after Open Water class, Advanced Open Water will expand and develop your dive skills!

OVERVIEW
The next natural step after your open water course is advanced open water! This course is 5 adventure dives that, upon completion, will leave you a more versatile, comfortable, and confident diver.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will get an intro to Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigation, Deep Diving, Search and Recovery, and Night diving.

CLASS SET UP
This is a 2 day course that involves a lecture and knowledge review before each dive (all done ON dive site, not in a classroom) then 5 adventure dives.

Join the Seal Team!

This intro to diving class is aimed for KIDS 8+! Over 2 days in the pool kids will learn all about scuba gear, how to build it, how to dive it and a number of underwater skills!

The classes will take place Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th 2025.

This year's PADI Seal Team will be held at the Richard G Snyder YMCA pool in Kittanning from 4pm-6:30pm on January 3rd and from 12pm-2:30pm on January 4th. Cost is $225 per child ($50 deposit due upon sign up) and includes all equipment, pool fees, and an official 'crew pack' (book, certificate, certification card etc.)
