During National CPR & AED Awareness Week, we’re proud to support organizations like Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation that are making a real impact in our community. Access to AEDs and CPR training truly saves lives. If your organization or team hasn’t completed CPR/AED training yet, now is a great time to start the conversation and get prepared.

We’re honored to support Gwyneth's Gift Foundation by placing a new AED at Stafford Soccer. Sudden Cardiac Arrest claims 356,000 lives annually, but immediate AED access can change the outcome. Together, we are building a heart-safe community where our athletes and their families can play with confidence.

Following today’s tragic accident on I-95 in Stafford, our hearts are heavy. Multiple lives were lost in a crash near a work zone, and our thoughts are entirely with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by this devastating tragedy.

Accidents like this are a stark, painful reminder of why safety matters every single day. When we recently asked our team why they prioritize safety, the most common response was simple: “My family and my coworkers.”

For anyone working on or near our roads, safety isn't just about procedures, it’s about looking out for one another and making sure everyone gets home to their loved ones at the end of the day.

Please, slow down, stay alert, and drive with extra care through work zones. The lives on the line matter every day.

We’re proud of our Director of Planning, Jeff Harvey, for being featured on the Biz Beat Banter podcast from the Fredericksburg Free Press.
With more than 30 years of experience in land use planning and regional development, our Jeff has helped shape growth across the Fredericksburg region, from Stafford County projects to major development along the I-95 corridor.
In the episode, he shares insights on regional growth, long-range planning, housing demand, and how the area continues to evolve through collaboration between planning professionals, developers, and local governments.

This Memorial Day, we take a moment to reflect and honor those who have served our country, recognizing the sacrifices made in service to our nation and the freedoms we enjoy today.

Legacy Engineering will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of the holiday.

In Fredericksburg, the annual National Cemetery Luminaria will be held on Saturday, May 23 from 8–11 PM, featuring more than 15,000 lanterns lighting the grounds in tribute to those who served. We highly recommend you attending!

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸

This week for National Public Works Week, we’ll be spotlighting some of the jurisdictions and projects Legacy Engineering has had the opportunity to support throughout the region.

First up is the City of Fredericksburg and the Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade project. Legacy is providing drilling and geotechnical support as part of the ongoing work to enhance and strengthen critical public infrastructure for the community.

Follow along this week as we continue highlighting projects that help shape the future of our region!

Legacy Engineering’s Richard Paige recently volunteered at Career Day at C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School in Waldorf, MD!

Richard shared what it’s like working as a geotechnical soil engineer and gave students a hands-on look at the engineering field through materials and demonstrations used in the industry. From learning about soil and construction to exploring the tools engineers use on the job, the students were engaged and asked great questions along the way.

We value opportunities like this to connect with students and help inspire the next generation of engineers and STEM professionals.

Thank you to C. Paul Barnhart Elementary School for having us!

Did you know that while women make up nearly half of the total workforce, they represent only about 16.7% of the engineering workforce?

At Legacy Engineering, we are proud to be part of the movement changing that statistic. Being a woman-owned firm is more than just a title, it’s a testament to the mothers who paved the way.

Today, we want to share a special tribute to Becky, who helped lay the very foundation of our firm. As the wife of co-founder Bruce and the mother of our President, Sara, Becky showed firsthand that being a dedicated working mom wasn’t just possible, it was a superpower. Because of her example, Sara grew up seeing that leadership and motherhood go hand-in-hand, eventually taking the reins to lead Legacy into the future.

Today, we honor Becky and all the moms in our industry who are:
• Designing sustainable solutions while raising the leaders of tomorrow.
• Pioneering breakthroughs in engineering and showing their kids what’s possible.
• Mentoring the next generation, proving that you can build a career and a family.

To the moms breaking ground, shattering ceilings, and engineering a better world for their children: We see you, we celebrate you, and we are so proud to work alongside you!

Happy Mother’s Day!

The Legacy crew is out in full force today to support our friends at FABA. We’re proud to be a long-standing partner of the Fredericksburg Area Builders Association and a sponsor of today’s tournament. We might not be taking home a green jacket, but we’re always winning when we’re working with this community!
