We’re excited to share that the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance has officially rebranded as Virginia’s Innovation Crossroads (VIC). This new identity reflects a unified effort to position our region as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and long-term investment across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Caroline, and Stafford.

Happy Flag Day!
Did you know the current 50-star American flag was designed in 1958 by 17-year-old high school student Bob Heft for a class project? He originally received a B- on the class project, but after his design was chosen by President Eisenhower as the official U.S. flag, his teacher changed the grade to an A. Talk about earning extra credit!

Our Land Development team recently conducted a site visit at the Pyramid Healthcare KGC project to observe and report on the ongoing civil construction progress. Regular site visits play an important role in monitoring project development, documenting progress, and helping keep projects moving forward efficiently.

Our team at Legacy Engineering supported the Horner Park project by flying and mapping approximately 200+ acres, utilizing drone LiDAR and scanning technologies, and delivering a full topographic and planimetric base map to Meridian Civil to support planning and design efforts for future park additions and renovations.

Large-scale projects like this highlight the importance of accurate, high-resolution mapping data in helping teams plan with confidence and bring community spaces to life.

Special thanks to Meridian Civil Survey and Chesterfield County for their trust in our mapping and remote sensing services! We’re proud to support impactful projects like Horner Park and to partner with respected leaders in civil engineering, site development, and surveying throughout the Richmond and Charlottesville region.

During National CPR & AED Awareness Week, we’re proud to support organizations like Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation that are making a real impact in our community. Following today’s tragic accident on I-95 in Stafford, our hearts are heavy. Multiple lives were lost in a crash near a work zone, and our thoughts are entirely with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by this devastating tragedy.

Accidents like this are a stark, painful reminder of why safety matters every single day. When we recently asked our team why they prioritize safety, the most common response was simple: “My family and my coworkers.”

For anyone working on or near our roads, safety isn't just about procedures, it’s about looking out for one another and making sure everyone gets home to their loved ones at the end of the day.

Please, slow down, stay alert, and drive with extra care through work zones. The lives on the line matter every day.
