Patti Keener - Logistics Manager and Key Account Manager
1. Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Franklin, NC, and my family’s roots date back here long before the 1800s. I have never felt much desire to live anywhere else; I truly love this town.
2. Tell us a little about your professional background.
Prior to joining Duotech, I had approximately 15 years of experience in the banking industry. At my most recent employer, I served as an Operations Manager overseeing 50 employees across three different locations. I began my banking career at just 18 years old as a teller and quickly advanced,
ultimately spending the last eight years of my tenure in management.
3. Describe in your own words what your role is for Duotech.
Currently, I serve as the Logistics Manager, a role I have held for just over three years. On a daily basis, I oversee all inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate with freight forwarders to support our international import and export needs. I also recently earned a highly sought-after certification that I am very proud of: Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer® (CUSECO). This certification focuses on export compliance, covering both EAR and ITAR requirements, which helps ensure Duotech remains safeguarded against export compliance violations.
4. Tell us a little about your family. Spouse, kids, pets? What do you all do for fun?
I have been married to the love of my life, Nathan, for 18 years, and we have two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 13. We live on a small hobby farm filled with sheep and chickens galore. Alongside the livestock, we also have two loyal livestock guardian dogs, Ernie and Dexter, and one very spoiled cat, Cleo-catra. Our daughters are deeply involved in competitive sheep showing, which means most of our weekends are spent traveling from event to event. We are active members of our local 4-H Lamb Club, and we provide the baby lambs for all the Macon County 4-H participants each year. Life stays busy, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
5. What's a fun fact about yourself?
I absolutely love playing tennis, and I’m proud to say I held a record at our local high school, a record that stood strong until just eight years ago. Something about stepping onto the court brings out a whole different side of me; I become fiercely competitive, energized, and completely in the zone. One day, when life slows down a bit and time allows, I would love to coach our high school women’s tennis team and help inspire the next generation of players.
