Duotech

Duotech Supporting the Past. Engineering the Future. With over 30 years of industry experience, we have been in a position to note the current trends.

Even with tight funding, systems must be maintained. This requirement has caused a reduction in new manufacture requirements, but a growth in depot and component repair needs. Often, the only way to maintain these systems is to reverse engineer obsolete technology and develop remanufactured or re-engineered "Form/Fit/Function" replacement units.

The latest employee spotlight in this quarter's Duotech newsletter is Mrs. Patti Keener. Patti is a key player on Team Duotech, helping us support Defense platforms around the world with cost effective, high velocity electronics test and sustainment solutions. Read all about Patti below...and feel free to challenge her in a tennis match at your own risk.

Patti Keener - Logistics Manager and Key Account Manager

1. Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Franklin, NC, and my family’s roots date back here long before the 1800s. I have never felt much desire to live anywhere else; I truly love this town.

2. Tell us a little about your professional background.

Prior to joining Duotech, I had approximately 15 years of experience in the banking industry. At my most recent employer, I served as an Operations Manager overseeing 50 employees across three different locations. I began my banking career at just 18 years old as a teller and quickly advanced,

ultimately spending the last eight years of my tenure in management.

3. Describe in your own words what your role is for Duotech.

Currently, I serve as the Logistics Manager, a role I have held for just over three years. On a daily basis, I oversee all inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate with freight forwarders to support our international import and export needs. I also recently earned a highly sought-after certification that I am very proud of: Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer® (CUSECO). This certification focuses on export compliance, covering both EAR and ITAR requirements, which helps ensure Duotech remains safeguarded against export compliance violations.

4. Tell us a little about your family. Spouse, kids, pets? What do you all do for fun?

I have been married to the love of my life, Nathan, for 18 years, and we have two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 13. We live on a small hobby farm filled with sheep and chickens galore. Alongside the livestock, we also have two loyal livestock guardian dogs, Ernie and Dexter, and one very spoiled cat, Cleo-catra. Our daughters are deeply involved in competitive sheep showing, which means most of our weekends are spent traveling from event to event. We are active members of our local 4-H Lamb Club, and we provide the baby lambs for all the Macon County 4-H participants each year. Life stays busy, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

5. What's a fun fact about yourself?

I absolutely love playing tennis, and I’m proud to say I held a record at our local high school, a record that stood strong until just eight years ago. Something about stepping onto the court brings out a whole different side of me; I become fiercely competitive, energized, and completely in the zone. One day, when life slows down a bit and time allows, I would love to coach our high school women’s tennis team and help inspire the next generation of players.

CH-46 Sea Knight Helicopter Strikes From The Sea
In the dead of night, the two CH-46 Sea Knights lift off from the deck of the USS Ronald Reagan and headed toward Iraq. On board are elite members of the U.S. Marine Corps Raiders, who are tasked with conducting a critical mission deep in enemy territory. As the helicopters fly over the rugged terrain, the night swallows all light so the crew press on using night vision goggles. The Marines remain silent, mentally preparing themselves for what lay ahead.
