🎉 Celebrating 30+ Years of Service. Congratulations, Tracey!

Today is a very special and bittersweet day at FrenchCreek as we celebrate the retirement of Tracey Pettit after more than 30 years of dedication to our company.

Tracey was one of the earliest members of the FrenchCreek team and has been part of our story for nearly as long as there has been a story to tell. She has been here through decades of growth, change, challenges, successes, and countless milestones. Simply put, FrenchCreek would not be the company it is today without her.

Over the years, Tracey has taken on just about every role imaginable. She has worked in accounting, sales support, customer service, IT, helped create our first website, and ultimately served as our CFO. No matter what the company needed, Tracey was always willing to step in, figure it out, and help move us forward.

But what we will miss most cannot be measured by a job title or a list of responsibilities. We will miss the knowledge that comes from more than three decades of being here. We will miss her familiar presence, her dedication, the relationships she has built, and simply having her as part of our everyday lives at FrenchCreek.

When someone has been part of a company for more than 30 years, they become much more than an employee. They become part of its foundation, its history, and its family.

Tracey, it is difficult to put into words how much your years of dedication have meant to FrenchCreek and to all of us who have had the opportunity to work alongside you. While we are truly going to miss having you here, we are incredibly happy for you as you begin this next chapter.

We hope retirement brings you plenty of time to slow down, enjoy the things you love, spend time with the people who matter most, and make some wonderful new memories.

Thank you, Tracey, for more than 30 years of hard work, loyalty, friendship, and for everything you have done to help make FrenchCreek what it is today. Your impact will always be a part of this company.

A full body harness should be properly fitted and adjusted before the worker is exposed to a fall hazard.

Before leaving the ground, take a few moments to verify five key areas:
✓ Dorsal D-ring position
✓ Chest strap placement
✓ Leg strap fit
✓ Webbing and sub-pelvic strap position
✓ Buckles, adjustments, and freedom of movement

Small fit problems are much easier to identify and correct while the worker is still safely on the ground. Swipe through for five field checks to include in your pre-work routine. Always follow the harness manufacturers instructions for proper fitting, adjustment, inspection, and use.

Certified or non-certified, which anchor would you rather tie off to?

At first, “certified” sounds like the safer answer. But in fall protection, the difference is more about how the anchorage is evaluated than which label sounds better.

For personal fall arrest, OSHA allows two basic approaches:
- 5,000 lb per employee attached
- Or a designed complete system that maintains at least a 2:1 safety factor under the supervision of a qualified person

What’s important is that the anchorage is appropriate for the entire fall-protection system, including location, clearance, swing-fall exposure, connector compatibility, and the number of workers attached.

So the better question isn’t just:

“Is this anchor certified?”

It’s:

“Is this the right anchorage for this system and application?”
