When precision matters, pressure matters.
During a recent visit with a plastics manufacturer producing rod, tube, and sheet, one thing stood out: every one of their 50 extruders relies on a Dynisco melt pressure sensor to control screw speed and maintain stable pressure at the die.
By using a melt pressure transducer with temperature output to regulate RPM, they’re able to:
✅ Deliver consistent sheet thickness and avoid center-heavy profiles
✅ Prevent internal stress that can lead to bowing, cracking, or instability
✅ Reduce defects like streaks, die lines, bubbles, and optical distortion
✅ Ensure quality from start to finish—even as thicker materials cool and “lock in” imperfections
The takeaway?
Stable melt pressure isn’t just a process variable—it’s a critical quality driver that directly impacts product performance, scrap rates, and customer satisfaction.
