Meet Dr. Sharonda Steele, HMB's Senior Proposal Coordinator!

We're excited to welcome Dr. Sharonda Steele to the HMB team. Sharonda brings more than 18 years of experience in strategic communications, program development, grant writing, and organizational leadership.

Throughout her career, she has secured funding through competitive grant proposals, led high-impact initiatives that expanded opportunities for students and communities, and earned recognition from the U.S. Department of Education for her leadership and results-driven approach.

At HMB, Sharonda applies her expertise in proposal strategy, storytelling, compliance, and project coordination to help position our teams for success. Her ability to transform complex information into compelling, winning proposals makes her a tremendous asset to our clients, our partners, and our future growth.

Please join us in welcoming Ashton Ribaric, EIT to the HMB Team!

Ashton is joining our Structures Division in the Murfreesboro, Tennessee office. A graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Ashton also holds his Engineer Intern (E.I.T.) certification. While at Tennessee Tech, Ashton led the university's ASCE Concrete Canoe Team for three years, gaining valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and engineering design.

HMB’s Alex Carpenter recently had the privilege of joining fellow panelists at the ACEC-TDOT Partnering Conference in Chattanooga to discuss TDOT’s Project Delivery Network and its impact on the transportation industry.

The Project Delivery Network is a framework developed by TDOT to help streamline the project delivery process by outlining the key stages, activities, tasks, and deliverables necessary for successful project management and collaboration.

Take a cruise on the historic Bell of Louisville this Memorial Day with HMB’s Anne Bader! To celebrate America’s 250 years, Anne will be providing narration for their afternoon tour. Anne has over 50 years of experience in the archaeology and history of the Falls of the Ohio regions and will discussing Native American history and important archaeological sites that will be seen along the way. We’ll see you there!

A simple improvement can make a big impact on pedestrian safety and connectivity.
HMB recently completed a pedestrian safety improvement project in Lexington’s Distillery District area, creating a new connection between public parking lots, the Legacy Trail, and the district itself. Based on HMB’s study recommendations and design, the project added modular curb barriers for pedestrian / motor vehicle separation and a new marked crosswalk with flashing beacons to improve pedestrian access and visibility.

The improvements are already making a difference, with the Lexington project manager noting they were “amazed at the number of people that already use it.”
