🏆 Ironman of the Month | Jose Rubio

This month, we’re proud to recognize Jose Rubio as Tank Builders Inc.’s Ironman of the Month.

Jose is one of TBI’s longest-serving team members, and from day one, he has consistently been the same dependable, hardworking individual we know today. He’s willing to take on any task, continues to meet his training requirements, and has proven himself wherever the job takes him.

Over the years, Jose has built valuable experience across both the AWWA and API industries, while continuing to expand his credentials in safety, welding, and quality. His willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities is exactly what creates opportunities for growth.

And that growth isn’t stopping here. TBI plans to put Jose through crane operator training, giving him another opportunity to expand his skills and take the next step in his career.

Chris brings a strong background in construction and workplace safety. Chris has his Safety Trained Supervisor Construction certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He is also a graduate of Columbia Southern University, where he graduated summa cm laude.

At TBI, safety isn't just a requirement. It's part of how we do business every day. Chris will play an important role in supporting our field teams, strengthening our safety programs, and continuing to build on our Safety First culture.

Project Spotlight: Water Plant #3 Expansion

Every successful water storage project is built one milestone at a time. One of the most exciting is roof installation.

Captured here is the placement of the self-supported umbrella roof for a 0.5 MG welded steel ground storage tank at Northwest Harris County MUD #5's Water Plant #3 Expansion. Precision planning, experienced crews, and safe ex*****on are critical when lifting and setting a roof of this size.

Quality in the Field Starts with Quality in the Shop

A finished tank may get most of the attention, but every project is made up of countless components that have to be fabricated, prepared, and delivered to the jobsite.

These tank appurtenances are staged in our shop yard and getting ready to head out to various projects.

From ladders and platforms to piping and other fabricated components, every piece plays a part in the finished product.

A Repair Isn't Complete Until It Passes the Test.

Completing the weld is only part of an API tank repair.

Tank floor welds are vacuum box tested (or another approved leak test) to verify they are leak-tight. Reinforcing pads are pressure tested to confirm the integrity of the completed welds.

Because a repair shouldn't just look right.

It should be proven before the tank returns to service.
