Watson had a visit last week by US Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer on her "America At Work" listening tour. It was a great opportunity to explain our product, manufacturing process, and our 102-year, family owned, family focused company philosophy. The Secretary toured our shops, met our people and even got some seat time in a new Watson 2200TM truck drill.

The administration is inquiring with the contractors and manufactures on the specific challenges and opportunities to help respond to the growing need of a stronger labor force going forward. https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/osec/osec20250404-0

I went out to Hobbs, NM and participated in a company wide safety orientation seminar. The next day I spent the day out on the powerline project. They also let me lead the daily stretch and flex. These guys are great at what they do. Next time you flip on a light switch or adjust your thermostat, take a moment and think about what it takes to bring power into your home and business.

Introducing the 3110TM truck drill on a conventional chassis. All previous 3110TM were on crane carrier style chassis, which we still offer on request. These powerful high torque drills on a rubber-tire chassis allow for ease of access on urban, inner city job site locations. They also provide more convenient mobility advantage on T-line projects where structure locations are spaced further apart, minimizing time loss. Watson is the only drill manufacturer who offers truck mounted drills with a high-torque output in multiple mast heights for drilling larger structural foundations. We’re in test week with a new Watson 3110CM. Every drill is custom built to the contractor’s exact specificarions. This 3110CM is offered with a short mast and 5-bar round Kelly bars driven by a hydraulic rotary. Ideally suited for hard rock production drilling under energized powerlines. Drilling in overhead restricted right-of-ways is necessary to upgrade and advance our power distribution capacity to meet the growing needs to deliver power to the many homes and communities.

Always grateful for those who are out there making it happen for all of us to enjoy.

Watson Drills, always built to outperform.

The Watson ExcaDrill Model EX-40 is one of our most in-demand drill products. This is attributed to many unique features and characteristics.

We typically evaluate the advantage of a foundation drill by cost and time to mobilize and also by its on site hole access advantages and down-the-hole productivity.

Here we have two similar, and yet slightly different variations of the EX-40. Both are mounted on an 8’6” wide Cat 317 excavator. Both are equipped with bolt-on rubber track pads and custom paint. One EX-40 was ordered with a 16’ tall mast and the other has a 12’ mast height. Both are client specified with custom built 5-element round locking kelly bars.

All Watson drills are and will always be specially built to your exact specifications.
