makes for a very quiet hunter…why? 2cc case capacity means you can launch a 300gr .338cal HPBT with 10.7gr of X powder to get 1,000 fps vs 14gr of the same X powder in a 3cc case…pressure doesn’t build up by how much powder necessarily, but by how large or small the container holding that charge is. Air density and positional sensitivity also play a role in the cartridges ease of obtaining consistent fps and low SD’s.

What it takes for subsonic success is expansion…projectile designs coupled with fast twist rifling, (1:3t to 1:6t) makes all the difference for terminal performance. From the proven Rex line, .ballistics Selous line, and the max expander offerings…careful design considerations were implemented into each projectile to maximize terminal performance in the subsonic range.
