Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave everything so that we could have everything we take for granted.

At Provenance Engineering, we are grateful — for the freedom to do meaningful work, to serve communities, and to build something that lasts. None of it exists without sacrifice.

To the fallen and the families who carry them — thank you.

Provenance Engineering is proud to welcome back Kori Thompson, PE.

Kori brings 18 years of water and wastewater engineering experience back to the team, including work on some of the same projects that have defined Provenance's reputation across Texas. A Texas Tech civil engineering Summa Cum Laude graduate and licensed Professional Engineer in both Texas and Missouri, Kori has spent her career designing and managing complex municipal infrastructure from treatment plants and lift stations to water supply and distribution systems.

What sets Kori apart is the perspective she carries into every project. Having spent seven years as an Engineering Supervisor for a city's sewer and stormwater utilities department, she understands infrastructure from the client side — what operators need, how decisions get made, and what it means when a project goes over budget or behind schedule. That experience makes her a better engineer and a better partner for the communities we serve.

Beyond her credentials, Kori is exactly the kind of person this firm was built around. A mom of two, active in sports and the outdoors with her family, an active member in Church, and someone who shows up for her community the same way she shows up for her clients.

She will be based out of our Weatherford office, and we could not be more excited to have her rooted with us again.

Welcome back, Kori.

To the mothers who raised engineers, operators, public servants, and community builders — Happy Mother's Day.

It’s easy to forget about infrastructure when it works perfectly.

We turn the tap, and clean water appears. But behind that simple action is a massive, coordinated effort of raw water conveyance system, a treatment plant, a distribution system, and a team of people who made sure it arrived safely.

It’s the result of tireless planning, precise design, management, and constant operation and maintenance. It’s the work of people who show up in the middle of the night so the rest of us don’t have to think twice about our water supply.

To the operators, engineers, utility managers, and communities: Thank you for keeping the water flowing.

We are honored to work alongside you.

This is one of our favorite parts of Texas Water.

At the Young Professionals event, two of our engineers sat down with college students for a hands-on water system design tutorial. No stage, no slides, just engineers and students working through real problems together at a table.

Investing in the next generation of water engineers isn't optional for us. It's part of who we are. The problems waiting for these students are real, the communities that need them are counting on them, and we want to play whatever role we can in getting them ready.

Grateful for events that make this kind of connection possible. See you next year.

Communities across Texas have a unique opportunity right now.

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is accepting applications for Water Supply and Infrastructure Grants—providing critical funding to help move essential projects forward.

For many communities, the challenge isn’t just identifying the need—it’s navigating the process.

That’s where we come in.

At Provenance Engineering, we work alongside cities and districts to identify eligibility, navigate requirements, and strengthen applications for success.

We believe infrastructure is about more than systems—it’s about serving people well and stewarding resources with purpose.

If your community is considering applying, you can learn more here:

📅 Application deadline: July 30

Let’s start the conversation.

Provenance Engineering is growing, and we could not be more grateful for the people joining this team.

Please help us welcome Sam Davis, PE.

Sam brings over 20 years of engineering experience to Provenance, along with something that speaks directly to who we are as a firm — a servant's heart that runs deep. Sam is a First Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve with Weapons Company, 1/23, a husband to Michelle for 18 years, a father of four, and a volunteer in his local church and Outdoor Youth Ministry.

The same discipline, commitment, and care for others that Sam brings to his community, and his country, is exactly what Provenance Engineering was built on. We are proud to have him rooted with us.

Welcome to the team, Sam.

Growth is exciting. But growth done well? That takes leadership behind the scenes.

This week, we’re highlighting Ashley Riker, whose impact on our team has been key to keeping things moving forward. As an Office Manager, Ashley played a key role in opening four new offices this past year. That kind of expansion doesn’t happen without someone who can organize, lead, and keep everything moving forward.

Ashley has helped do so much behind the scenes:
• Supporting new office launches
• Onboarding and equipping new team members
• Creating systems that allow our team to scale with purpose
• Overseeing Accounting and Human Resources

But what stands out most is how she does it—with a heart for serving others and a commitment to strengthening the team so we can serve the communities we’re part of.

Ashley represents what it looks like to build something bigger than yourself—and to do it the right way.

Provenance Engineering is continuing to expand across Central Texas, partnering with communities as they plan, design, and improve critical water and wastewater infrastructure.

We have some exciting new projects in Central Texas to ongoing conversations with growing communities throughout the region, this expansion reflects a simple belief: the best solutions come from being present, accessible, and invested locally.

As Central Texas grows, so do the demands on water systems. Our focus is on helping communities navigate that growth thoughtfully, with practical engineering, long-term planning, and a commitment to stewardship at every step.

We’re proud to support the region so many of our team members call home and excited to keep building alongside the communities shaping its future.
