If you own a 2011–2024 Malibu, you may eventually see this pattern on your screen.

Here's what's happening inside a Medallion touchscreen: there are two layers — an LCD on the back, and a glass digitizer (the touch layer) bonded to the front. The factory uses a clear optical adhesive between them. Under years of UV exposure, heat, and vibration, that adhesive can break down. When it gives up, it tends to start at the edges and spread inward.

That's what owners see as the cloudy "bubble" pattern — air and moisture pushing into the gap where the adhesive used to be. In many cases, once it starts it tends to progress, and touch response in the affected zones can deteriorate with it.

Many Medallion screens used in Malibu boats from 2011 through 2024 share the same OEM bonding design. We tend to see the same delamination pattern across screen sizes — only the display itself changes. We've spent years engineering anti-delamination replacement assemblies that use a different bonding method and resist these conditions.

If you're seeing the bubble, we cover most Malibu Medallion screens out there:
• 6.5" Medallion Smart Touch — 2011–2015 Malibu MTC
• 7" Medallion Viper 2 (MTC-7A) — 2015–2016 Vortex retrofit, 2017–2020 Surf with Medallion surf gates
• 7" Medallion Viper 2 (MTC-7B) — 2015+ Wakesetter LSV / MXZ
• 12" Medallion Viper 2 (MTC-12A) — 2015+ Wakesetter
• Medallion Viper 3 — 2020+ models

Three repair paths on most products: mail-in repair (3 days or less), DIY kit, refurbished exchange (zero downtime).

Rainbow stripes across your Panoray? It's the LCD, not the touch.

2019 Nautique came in with vivid color stripes and lines across the 12.3" Linc Panoray. Interestingly, the touch grid was still working perfectly. This is the OTHER major failure mode on these displays — the LCD module itself degrades, leaving stripes, banding, blackout zones, or wrong colors, while the touch keeps responding normally.

Two failure paths on the Panoray, both fixable:
• Touch grid dies, screen still looks fine
• LCD shows stripes/banding/wrong colors, touch still works

Same fix either way — we extract the failed LCD/touch panel, install our improved anti-delamination assembly, reseal the housing watertight. All settings preserved. No programming required. This customer saved $3,000+ vs the dealer quote.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

Fits 2017–2025 Nautique boats with the LINC Panoray 12.3" display (except 2024–2025 P-Series) — G-Series, Super Air Nautique, and more.

Part numbers:
• 170118 (standard)
• 170118A (2017 models with Polk radios)
• SP700TWFJ (internal Murphy model)

Save $3,000+ vs dealer. From $1,900.

$6,000+ at the dealer. Often backordered. We keep refurbished ones in stock.

2016 Malibu Wakesetter came in with a fully delaminated 7" Medallion Viper 2 — no video, no touch, the dash was useless. The owner needed it back on the water fast, so they went with our refurbished exchange instead of waiting on a mail-in repair.

Here's how it works: we ship a fully refurbished display already upgraded with our anti-delamination bonded digitizer, brighter LED driver, anti-fingerprint cover glass, and new wiring. Drop it in, plug it back in, settings preserved, no programming. Ship your old core back within 14 days and get a $300 credit. Net cost: $2,500. Save $4,000+ vs new from the dealer.

Three repair paths available on this product — pick your speed:
• Refurbished exchange — zero downtime, plug-and-play (this customer's choice)
• Mail-in repair — 3 day turnaround or less
• DIY kit — same-day fix for technical owners

This 7" Viper 2 — internally MTC-7A — fits Malibu Vortex (2015–2016 retrofit) and Malibu Surf (2017–2020) when equipped with Medallion surf gates. Also fits select Chaparral.

Common part numbers:

2013. 12 years on the water. The HV700 touch controller finally tapped out — right on schedule.

The internal touch controller chip on every HV700/HV700HB display starts failing after 5–7 years. By year 12, ghost touch, phantom menu changes, and random settings flips are inevitable. Doesn't matter which boat brand it's bolted into — Mastercraft, Supra, Tige, Centurion, Nautique — the failure mode is identical.

This 2013 Mastercraft is the most common kind of HV700 repair we see. Restored with a new LCD + digitizer and an upgraded touch controller that solves the failure permanently. Sunlight readable. Polarized glasses compatible. Same factory look. Plug it back in, no programming required.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

7" Murphy/Enovation HV700/HV700HB fits 2012+ models from:
Mastercraft • Tige • Centurion • Nautique • Regal • Supra • Premier • South Bay • Harris • Four Winns • Bayliner • Sylvan

If one Medallion screen is delaminated, the other one isn't far behind.

2019 Malibu Wakesetter — the customer sent in both displays at once, which is exactly the right call. The 7" Medallion Viper 2 II and the 12" Medallion Viper 2 II share the same OEM bonding design, run side-by-side in the dash, and tend to fail in the same season. Sending both saves a return trip and a future repair bill.

Both came back as crystal-clear screen assemblies — same factory look, brighter LED driver, anti-delamination bonding. Plug in, no programming required.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

7" Medallion Viper 2 II (MTC-7B) — fits Malibu, Chaparral, Scarab, Sea Ray, Premier (2015+)
• Malibu: 3962085.1 / 3737082

The boat starts fine. Nothing else works.

2021 Nautique G23 came in with the textbook LINC Panoray 12.3" failure — the bottom third of the touchscreen had stopped responding, including the "Acknowledge All" boot prompt. You can still start the boat, but every dash-controlled function (ballast, surf shape, audio, navigation) is locked out behind that frozen prompt. The owner had been dealing with it the entire time they were on the water.

The cause is touch grid failure. Sometimes you'll see classic delamination on these — watery bubble, peeling edges, visible bond separation. Often the screen looks perfect and the touch grid just fails on its own. Either way, the dealer hands you a quote north of $4,500 for a new unit.

The fix: we extract the failed LCD/touch panel, install our improved assembly with an upgraded touch grid and anti-delamination bonding, reseal the housing watertight, and ship it back. All settings preserved. No programming required. Same factory look, slightly better anti-glare coating for sunlight.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

Biggest screen on the dash. Biggest dealer quote. Same failure as the rest.

2019 South Bay came in with a 12.3" Murphy PV1200 — peeling border, dead zones in the touch response, water starting to find its way into the housing. The failure mode is consistent across every PV1200 we see: the optical bond between the digitizer and the LCD breaks down, opens a gap at the edge, and from there the touch starts dying in patches (usually the bottom third first).

The fix isn't a $5,000 new unit. We swap the delaminated LCD/digitizer assembly with our improved anti-delamination design, reuse your existing circuit boards and housing, and re-seal it. All settings preserved. No programming required.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

Fits the 12.3" PV1200 / Linc Panoray / "Skinny Pete":
• South Bay pontoons
• Nautique 2017+ GS series
• Mastercraft (PN 501300030)
• Lightning motors
• Other Murphy/Enovation Powerview 1200 applications

Dim Yamaha screen? Check the border first.

This 4.3" Yamaha Connext came in with a dark, barely-readable backlight — but the LCD wasn't the original failure. The factory bonding around the edge had started peeling, opening a gap where water could enter the housing. Once water gets behind the screen, the backlight starts to die. The peel looks cosmetic. It isn't.

The fix isn't just a new LCD. New anti-delamination bonded digitizer, brighter LED backlight, anti-fingerprint cover glass, and a proper RTV silicone seal so this doesn't happen again. All settings preserved. No programming required.

Mail-in repair. 3 day turnaround or less. Pay-after-repair available. 3-year warranty option.

Fits 2018+ Yamaha Connext 4.3" / Activision 430:
• Yamaha jet boats (AR, SX, FSH 210)
• Yamaha WaveRunners
• Godfrey pontoons / Sanpan 2600
• Other 4.3" Connext applications

Part numbers: F4A-U8K12-00-00 • F3X-U820A-01-00 • F3V-U820A-00-00
Note: two screen versions exist — confirm your cables before ordering.

Dealer: $1,900+, often 12+ month backorder. Ours saves $1,195+.

Ghost touch. Phantom menu changes. Settings that update themselves.

Sylvan pontoon came in with the textbook HV700HB failure — and it's the same failure we see on every brand running this 7" Murphy/Enovation display. The internal touch controller chip starts failing after 5–7 years on the water. Same chip, same timeline, same symptoms.

Fixed with our complete LCD + digitizer replacement and upgraded touch controller. Sunlight readable. Polarized glasses compatible. Plug it back in — no programming required.
