🚨🇺🇸 Walsh wants a firing squad for Pike as the harsher punishment.
Matt Walsh posted on X that it is time for round two, by firing squad this time, because Christa Pike has not served her sentence. It reads like a call for the tougher option after Tennessee's lethal injection failed to end the life of its d*ath row prisoner.
But the firing squad was Pike's own idea first. Before the date, her lawyers asked for an all-female firing squad instead of lethal injection. They pointed to her fear of a slow and painful d*ath and to veins that are hard to reach. Tennessee law does not allow the firing squad, and the state refused. The firing squad Walsh demands is the method Pike herself asked for, and Tennessee refused it. Now Congressman Tim Burchett wants Tennessee lawmakers to change that law.
But here's the bigger question: When does justice become revenge? And should the government have the power to try again after a failed ex*****on?
Is this accountability under the law, or has the justice system gone too far?
