🔥🔧 Injector Coil Resistance — A Key Measurement Every Technician Should Know! ⚡🧰

The resistance of a gasoline injector coil represents the electrical opposition inside the injector’s internal winding, measured in ohms (Ω). When the ECU energizes this coil, it creates a magnetic field that opens the injector valve, allowing fuel to flow into the engine.

To check this resistance, a multimeter set to the ohms scale is used. The injector must be disconnected from the vehicle’s electrical system, and the multimeter probes are placed directly on the injector terminals. The reading you get indicates the health and type of the injector:

🔍 Typical Resistance Values:

🔸 Low-impedance injectors: usually 12–16 Ω

🔸 High-impedance injectors: higher than that, depending on design and manufacturer specifications

Accurate resistance measurement helps diagnose faulty injectors, prevent misfires, and maintain precise fuel delivery—crucial for performance and efficiency.
