Did you know?? Galvanic Corrosion (dissimilar metals) can destroy your substrate 😳, even with a properly applied coating system. 🤓🫡

Say you have Aluminum structure with Stainless Steel accents and hardware. These two metals despise one another, so much so, that the aluminum will destroy itself, just to get away from the stainless.

The aluminum turns into a white crystal like powder. This happens under the paint film, usually creates a visible blister.

Hot take: RCCI’s expert opinion is that way too many builders / GC’s use dissimilar metals in reckless ways. For example, building something with dissimilar metals and not using gaskets / insulators / anything, is just ensuring there will be repairs needed within 6 months. The two dissimilar metals cannot touch, not at the threads or anywhere else.
