What can you create with a smartphone, 350 photos, and the right 3D technology?

A remarkably lifelike replica of a historic bronze statue.

In this Artec 3D case study, a team set out to digitally recreate a weathered fisherman statue in Belgrade, Serbia, capturing everything from its intricate shape to the texture and color of its aged bronze surface.

Using an iPhone 15 Pro, the team captured approximately 350 photos in just 15 minutes. Artec Studio's AI-powered photogrammetry transformed those images into a detailed, print-ready 3D model.

The model was then brought to life using Mimaki's full-color 3D printing technology, producing a miniature replica that preserves the character and detail of the original.

It's a fascinating example of how accessible 3D capture and printing technologies are opening new possibilities for art, design, and cultural heritage preservation.
